ok, so your first job is supposed to be your "rite of passage" into the working world, and you gain experience with an official duty. Well, sure, thats true, but only if your job has skills that you can use later in life. Mine doesnt. I do corn detassling at a local hybrid seed farm. Me and about 4 other friends are also doing it. The job sucks more than a fat kid doing push-ups with no arms. I get up at 4 in th morning, get picked up at 5:30 by my crew chief (who is actually pretty hot) and arrive at the smelly, abandoned corn field by 6. We jump on a big machine and stand in a basket and the machine drives slowely (about a fourth of a mile and hour) and pluck the tassles off of the corn. We go back and forth through the field, taking ten minute breaks in between. We get an hour lunch, then head back out until 3 in da afternoon. After that we jump back to the car and the crew chief drops us off at the house. The first week was absolutely awesome, me meeting everybody and finally earning $7.50 and hour or 8 hrs. a day, but then, I just felt my body give way, and now I'm feeling tired and weary, not a good sign. Fortunatly, the prospect of potentially earning about $800 drives me onward, towards a new and shiny Xbox 360. Plus some other s**t.
