I've been through the worst 2 interviews ever!!! >< The first was at Qualcomm. 2 young women grilled me for 20 minutes. I was so dazed by the end I couldn't think of a single thing to ask about job specs. I kindly thanked them and left. And the quesitons were introspective about customer service---they were difficult to think up an answer to on the fly, especially with 2 employers staring at me *sigh* I was praying the second one would be better. Right.... It was with Google---so they're all about team spirit and squeaky clean, happy employees. It was a panel interview with 5 other young people from the same hiring agency. It took an hour and a half!!! They were what-if questions too dealing with past job situations like grumpy managers and customer problems. For some it was hard to think of something appropriate and fitting to say---thank God I'm a humanities major with an official b.s. degree in creating sensical nonsense XP
I'm waiting for a reply from Google---I think I sounded too determined and driven to accept a mere secretary position at the first one so I was turned down ;( But I know they made the best decision for their company and I learned a lot about what and what not to say. The second time around I still wasn't completely prepared but I toned it down somewhat. I don't think anyone could have said exactly what they wanted to hear. For that matter, it's hard to balance what they want to hear, what you can/can't say, what you should say, and what you need to do to one-up your neighbor *sigh* I was so mentally wiped I came home and slept, then ate a salad and a slice of fruit tart. wink I'm so nervous!!
