Over the years, I must have spent a good four grand on Anime DVDs. This is more than it could be because of my hatred for bootlegs (I do have bootlegs, but only for series I was reasonably certain at the time would never see a legitimate release in Australia - or the US for that matter). For no particular reason, I'm going to list it all here. I could list them by Japanese title, but why would I? I speak English.
Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai: vol 1-4 w/artbox (complete... and the one series I refuse to call by it's English title) Oh! My Goddess (Original OAV): vol 1-3 (complete) Ah My Goddess: the Movie Akira Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040: (complete... it's been on loan to a friend for like 2 years so I forget how many discs it was) Cowboy Bebop: vol 1-6 w/artbox + Best Sessions + Movie (complete) Cromartie High School: vol 1 w/artbox Excel Saga: vol 1-6 (complete) FLCL: vol 1-3 w/artbox (complete) Fruits Basket: vol 1-4 w/artbox (complete) Ghost in the Shell (movie) Great Teacher Onizuka: vol. 1-10 (complete) Groove Adventire Rave: 2 digipak sets, bootlegged (complete) Gunsith Cats .hack//SIGN: vol 1-2 w/artbox Haibane Renmei: vol 1-3 w/artbox (complete... and I don't even know what the English title is for this. Charcoal Feather Federation?) Initial D: vol 1-2 (seen the whole series, just never got around to buying it all) Kiki's Delivery Service King of Bandit Jing: vol 1 w/artbox Love Hina: vol 1-2 (once again, seen it all, just never got around to buying it) Lupin III TV: vol 1 Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro Lupin III: Pursuit of Harimao's Treasure Martian Successor/Mobile Battleship Nadesico: vol 1-6 w/artbox (complete) Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion (I should buy the series at some point) NieA_7: digipak (complete) Noir: vol. 1-4 w/artbox Perfect Blue Please! Teacher: vol 1-4 w/artbox (complete) Princess Mononoke Ranma 1/2: 2 of 3 digipak sets, bootlegged Read of Die (OAV) Serial Experiments Lain: vol 1-4 w/artbox (complete) Spirited Away Collector's Edition Slayers: digipak (complete) Tenchi Muyo: digipak (complete) Tenchi Universe: Region 1 vol 1-8 w/artbox (complete) Trigun: vol 1-8 (complete) Voices of a Distant Star (includes She and Her Cat as a bonus feature) Witch Hunter Robin: vol 1-2 w/artbox
I don't even think that's all of it. And I haven't bought an Anime DVD since I started uni... stupid life goals interfering with frivolous purchases.

I know for a fact that the most popular subject tutorials are the ones the directly follow the lecture - this is so people can do their s**t in as little time as possible then ******** off home. The perfect crime. So I checked the tutorial times in advance to ensure I could register as quickly as possible, no time to think. Tutorial registrations for two of this semester's subjects opened at 10am. At 10am I logged in and registered for the 9am lecture and 10am tutorial for one class. By the time I loaded the registration screen for the next class, the post-lecture class was already full, and my second choice was nearly full. I was logged out before 10:02. Thinking about it now, it's probably for the best - attendance is not always checked at lectures, so at the moment (I still have to register for one class as the one I originally registered for is no longer being held this semester) I have one lecture and two tutorials on Tuesday, with two lectures and one late afternoon tutorial on Thursdays - meaning if I was up late studying all night wednesday I don't necessarily have to get up at 5am to make it to the campus by 8. And if I can move that Thursday class to Tuesday as well... pirate

Man, I've missed my old winamp playlist since moving in with Susan and letting my mother keep the old computer (even though she initially bought it, I gradually replaced every part of it over 4 years). So anyway, I was going through my CD wallet to put the CDs back in their cases and found some old mix CDs I put together when I was still working at Kinko's. This one may be the best mix ever:
L`Arc~en~Ciel - Driver's High Sonata Arctica - Blank File The Ataris - IOU One Galaxy The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in Love? Goo Goo Dolls - Amigone Garbage - Why Do You Love Me? Spiderbait - Buy Me a Pony Orgy - Blue Monday (cover ftw) Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta Green Day - Basket Case Audio Adrenaline - Underdog Jebediah - Leaving Home Poison - Talk Dirty to Me (I'm not sure why I like this song, blow me) Goldfinger - Stay Garbage - Just Wanna Have Something to Do Placebo - Every You, Every Me The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You Powderfinger - Don't Wanna Be Left Out Icubus - Nebula Mindless Self Indulgence - Futures Reel Big Fish - Beer
******** yes. And that's all I have to say about that.

Apparently I generated too many complaints, and have failed my probation.
It's liberating, and surprisingly I do not fear the backlash from the GD population that one might expect. Perhaps this is because in the last few days, more and more people have pledged their support to me as I have gradually adjusted their fragile paradigms to move in line with my own. Or maybe it's just because it hasn't started yet. xd
I'm not going to pull any punches on this one, I'm not going to pretend I stepped down. Obviously I screwed up, but to deny that would be to throw everything I feel I accomplished in my own face. Or somesuch.
Ah well. Back to using the report button instead of the thread move button.

You know that scene in Starship Troopers where the bugs are throwing themselves at the walls of the outpost and climbing over the corpses of their fellows to get in and kill the mobile infrantry dudes? Like that, except there's only five MI left, their guns have jammed, and the only dropship pilot crazy enough to bail them out has the flu and got pulled from flight duty thirty seconds before the operation began in the first place.

I now constantly get death threats and friendslist requests. Half of GD thinks I'm doing a great job because I remove the s**t they've been whining about for ages, the other half hates me because that's pretty much all they post.
I've had 15 seperate people accuse me of abusing my powers because apparently it's ok for the GD to have nothing on the front page but "Merry Christmas. I'm going to my family's house and thought you all needed to know" threads, and deleted their flaming posts along with everyone else's flaming posts.
Here are a few things I want the general populace of Gaia to know: - Moving your thread is not a personal attack. It's just not in the right place. I think it's great that you appreciate the mods, but "thank the mods here" is not a discussion, it's feedback. "I need friends, who wants to chat" is not discussion, it's a chatterbox thread, and "I'll sell you pics for 2k. Over the course of 7 pics, you will see everything" belongs somewhere besides Gaia. - Reporting things does not make me your friend, or even have any respect for you. I'm not taking your side because I moved something you reported, I'm doing my job. The same applies when I move something you posted. If you flame in a thread and report the people who flame you back, I'm removing everything, not the stuff you don't agree with. - If what you post violates the ToS and hence, I remove it, I am not open you your creative interpretation of what you really meant when you said "go drink bleach". The warning stands. - If you're really desperate to get on my friendslist, chat with me awhile. Don't add me at random then PM me every 45 minutes asking why I rejected you. - If you're really desperate to kill me, bareknuckle boxing is preferred, but if you really want a duel, bring the pistols yourself. - I'm not going to "get a real job" until I finish university. By the way, I don't do modding because I have no life, I do it because I get a kick out of doing the things that need to be done, then having people send me 15 PMs telling me what I say/think doesn't matter - while trying to get me to change my opinion. - Finally, there's a good chance I don't like you. I don't like anyone. Ask anyone, I'm an utter c**t. Don't try and get on my good side, I don't have one.
Regards, Kermi (Dedicated Moderator for Gaia)

So, I'm a moderator. Unexpected, pretty weird. Yet here I am - purple name and power over life and death people's threads. Contrary to my beliefs, I am yet to be inundated with an overwhelming amount of friendslist requests and random PMs. Still, it hasn't even been 24 hours yet.

Susan got a new digital camera (and a printer, and X-Files seasons 2 & 3... good god she's rich). Anyway, camera means camwhoring. No one reads this, so I feel pretty secure in posting an image of myself. Good afternoon, good evening and good night.

A little something I whipped up in Q&F |
|
|
|
|
|
|
I posted the below in Q&F, where it was partially underappreciated, but mostly hailed as a work of art. Eventually it got moved to the GD and died. I feel like reposting it here, so YOU DECIDE.
Question: WHEN ARE YOU GONNA FIX THE STORE/PREVIEW/MARKETPLACE/BANK/ITEM GLITCH???! Translation: I am incapable of reading announcements, stickies, or even looking at the list of threads in this forum with identical titles to the one I am going to make. I need my answers now, and if the answers don't come fast enough, I will type in ever bigger writing. Also if I don't like the answers, I will post new threads, and PM mods for the answers I already have. Response: Gaia is a free service provided for entertainment purposes, and even if you're a donator, donating does not entitle you to be a p***k when things are glitchy. Gaia will never "owe" you anything, not gold, not lost items, technically not even donation letters, because the letters are a thank you for donating; you are not 'buying' them. You probably should have read the Terms of Service a little bit more closely before accepting it. If something does not work, there is a reason for it: it is probably being fixed. e.g: the store sellback is down because the stores were taking items and giving no gold in return. What would you prefer? A few days of waiting/using the marketplace, or losing your items for nothing? Trust me, these things are being worked on, and every glitch on Gaia is not some of universal conspiracy to piss you off.
Question: HOW DO I GET GOLD FASTER? I NEED MORE GOLD. THE ITEMS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE! Translation: I am an impatient teen or preteen with no common sense. I never read site rules and guidelines, and make my ignorance everybody else's problem instead of slowing down for five minutes and figuring out simple problems for myself. I am very likely to become a highly paid but ineffective manager later in life and will be strangled to death by my future significant other. Response: You are not the first person to post this question. In fact, you will never be the first person to ask any question, ever. Just trust me on this: never. Look a little further down the first page of this forum for another thread asking exactly this question. Another redundant thread, might I add. There'll always be a few. But firstly, what you should have done was read the Basics guide right there on the front page of the site after you logged in. Go do that now. Same goes for any questions pertaining to rare events, what to do on this website, and trading.
Question: THE MODS ARE ASSHOLES BECAUSE MY THREAD GOT MOVED. ALSO THERE ARE TOO MANY THREADS IN THE WRONG PLACE. WE NEED NEW MODS. Translation: I hate mods because I am not one. Maybe if I complain about there being no mods, they will make me one. This non sequiter should make clear that I also believe I will be a much better judge of 'right' and 'wrong' than the existing mods, will fix things faster, and unite the Gaians in some kind of electronic utopian community where everyone has halos and nitemare scarves. I am flawless and have the best avatar ever. Response: Get bent. There are tens of thousands of active users daily, posting hundreds of thousands of messages. The mods try to handle severe cases like hackers, scammers and pornographers. Someone posting about Gwen Stafani's new song in GD is almost as low on the priority list as the avatar spotlight. Speaking of which...
Question: WHY HAVEN'T THEY CHANGED THE AVATAR SPOTLIGHT? THE ADMINS ARE SO LAZY. Translation: I just bought some awesome flame pants and a ninja headband. I can't believe no-one else thought of this! I'm going to get in the avatar spotlight for sure - I just hope they change it before someone copies me. The admins clearly aren't doing anything, because I never see them posting. It never occured to me that the continuing existence of gaiaonline.com and it's message board means the admins are hard at work, because I am a self serving and shortsighted a*****e. Response: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being keeping the message board working, 1 being coming up with new items every month or so, with retrieving lost devil tails being about a 5), there is a good chance picking new users to bathe in the glory of the avatar spotlight is roughly a -12. They'll get to it, but 'when' is not a date that can be plotted by any calendar. Even "when we get around to it" is probably too specfic. In the meantime though, why don't you save up for a That 70s red shirt and some goth boots? That'll get you into the spotlight for sure.
Question VIA PM: HI YOU HAVE A CUTE AVATAR CAN I HAVE GOLD/ITEMS PLEASE? OR PERHAPS YOU'D LIKE TO KNOW A SECRET WAY TO GET GOLD, JUST GIVE ME YOUR PASSWORD AND LOG OFF FOR HALF AN HOUR. Translation: I don't even like this site. I might like it more if I had more items. Say, you have a nitemare scarf. I'm sure you don't need it, but I do. And because you've got expensive items you're probably a really giving person and wouldn't mind just giving your items you probably spent hours online questing for away to someone you don't know. Response: STOP IT. JUST STOP. People don't appreciate being inundated with PMs just because they have expensive items and therefore in your twisted logic are willing to give them away. Think about how much time you'd have to invest in getting one of those items. It's so mindblowing you'll probably never even try. Think about that before begging people for their stuff, as valueless in real life as it is. As for the second kind of scum, if you cheat someone out of their gold or items, you will be caught. Why do you persist in this kind of cheap, mean spirited charade when there's nothing to gain?
Question: HI DOES EVERY1 LIKE MUSIC? Translation: I have discovered the best band ever and liking them makes me cooler than you. Response: That's great, but you posted this in extended discussion.
