It was a good month and a busy month and a profitable one in gaian Gold. The announcements of tattoos for avatars finally gave the members something to do with all that ink and all those bugs. One day inks were selling at 5g and the next day they were 500g. Sure, it didn't last, but the earliest days of trading sold bugs (which you trade for ink) at 10g per bug. But, a lot of users suddenly had more things to sell in the market place. They introduced swimsuits which gave those who insist on wearing near nothing more choices than dingy grey underwear. Perhaps they will open a swimming game.

The featurette on the last Mimzy gave an extra item for your avatar. That was another small burst in the market, with people scrambling to get a mimzy in their inventory so they could participate in the new event. The 1st two weeks sealed envelops from donations were selling between 12,000g and 16,000 g an opportunity to buy low and sell high. That's 4000 in profit for each one bought and sold before the 15th of the month. You have to be careful because the price doesn't always go back up, so don't buy too many at once. Try to make the profit off it before buying the second one. The prices are usually the highest at the 1st and near the 15th and it fluctuates in between.

The collectibles were extremely good this month which meant a lot of people went out and bought extra to sell. That actually drove the prices down to 8000 at one point.

Next we get the weirdest event ever. If you traded garlic and an orchid you would get a broach. You traded with Edmund these items which cost you 500g and you could do it 3 times. the Van Helsings wanted a 500g donation 3 times for a blood brooch. well if you did both 3 times that cost you 3000g. and the items didn't sell well in the market at all. However, Garlic sold tremendously for 3 days. Tons of profit.

Next the shops closed for a day. Well, you can do without shops unless you are fishing and are trying to place for ranks. I only got in on the tail end, but I'm not embarrassed to say I made gold off of bait. Plus when the stores reopened we all had extra spending money for the stores...which was pretty good.

Profits were low but also made from the goggles in Tsbusa and lastly the dark orb, both which sold low.

In between the extra things to sell you continue selling your paper items and hats and flowers.

Did I mention fish? Well when your best friend is fishing for 2nd place in Gambino, somebody has to sell enough fish to keep him in grade A bait. That's 250g each A Bait. So, I was the middle man and bought a lot of fish from him. Anyone interested in fish hats, I have plenty left, but to tell you the truth you can get them by fishing and trading you own fish.. Somehow I wind up buying pole and learned to fish a bit myself. At one point I made it to position 20 in overall. But, what fishing did was to get me familiar with the fish and the exchange rates for hats and helms and things of that sort. Fishing can be an expensive hobby or it can be quite profitable depending on how you approach it.

So by the end of the month I have a whole lot of tattoos, fish, inks,and July collectibles. I also spent a ton on fishing equipment and bait. So, I can't tell you how much I made because I reinvested in things. Some were good buys and some were mistakes. But profit is by buying low and selling high. Now high isn't always a great giant profit, but it adds up.


Over all it was a good month and I strongly recommend getting your store license. How much you make depends on how many times you are willing to type in your password. Once for every purchase, once for every sale and twice for every trade.

well I discovered fishing here in the last few days. Actually I was coerced into fishing by my buddy. He's been fishing a little more than 2 weeks and has made it to the #8 rank for the month. Way to go Douglas Cavell.

So I decided to give it a try. No, I don't have a goal to make the top ranks or get a trophy. But, I would like to be able to met the "game challenge." back in April, when I first got here,I tried. the first sizable purchase ofter I upgraded my house was a rod. Well the rod was also the first thing I sold back to the store at half price. records show I actually caught 8 guppies in April. I remembered it being less
I guess I finished the whole bucket.

I found out where our stats are kept. You can find your Fishing Stats in the middle of the page at http://www.gaiaonline.com/games/fishing/stats.php?

So, here's the deal. With a basic pole you can catch a bunch of tires, cans, and boots. With an upgraded pole you can catch more guppies and bass at baskin lake even using grade f bait, with grade d you might pull in some stripers. With grade d and a decent pole upgraded to the PLUS (expensive) you can catch fish at the port of Gambino , mostly seedskins. trout for beginners. But, I see a lot of people pulling in tuna which is the long distance fish. They are good for getting away if you are a beginner.

So, with the first upgrade I was tired of not seeing fish at Gambino so I went and rounded up my gold ans bought all three plus rods. Now, yes that is excessive. Then again you can't bring this gold to Walmart.

As a gamer I want to eventually be able to fish with all three poles and actually catch a tuna. I also want to get something from the Durem reclamation facility which is the hardest fishing hole. So far, I have only pulled one can out of the Durem fishing hole.

So I have had fishing poles for about 2 days and I have caught 349 fish so far.

Unfortunately, I have made very little in the market, because, my Gaian time was spent fishing. Made new friend though...nice people - fishers.

The easiest fishing hole is Basskin lake which you get to through the normal game link for fishing. The next hardest is the Port of Gambino which you get to through the world map. The hardest is at Durem. I suggest learning to catch a fish before going there.

By the way until you know what you are doing, the really expensive grade A bait will only attract the fish you can't catch and get away. So avoid A bait until you develop some fishing skill.

Though there weren't many votes there were very few negative comments, which is kinda amazing in the arena if yo have ever read throug the comments over there. Of course, it didn't make the top 500 avatars for the week. but,this is one of my preferred avatars...this one and last weeks entry and it s highly likely that I will use the two most often on this profile.
