howl is very vain, and loves to look his best. he can be a very shallow person, but is really protective of those he cares for. he is very powerful, and can do most anything with magic. he is very cowardly though, and uses most of his powers to hide from his superiors and other opposing forces. he has the power to chang his shape, and the shape of people/ objects around him. he uses this to spy on his oposites a lot, or just listen in on gossip. he enjoys flirting, which makes him a very entertaining person to be around. he has his commitments though, so there is no need to worry about him because of it.

calcifer was a fallen star, caught by howl, and didnt want to die, so he struck a bargain with howl, and in exchange for howls heart, he could stay alive. this also gave howl access to calcifers considerable powers. eventually, both of them decided that the deal they had made was a bad one, but could not do anything about it. sophie, a young girl was cursed by the witch of the waste, and found her way to howl and calcifer. she helped return howls heart to him, and and gave calcifer another 1000 years of life with her powers. once calcifer is freed from the curse, he decides to stay with howl and sophie, and he runs teh castle howl lives in. sophie was turned into a cat by howl to save her from a curse, and she was thrown from the castle in a fight. calcifer has a bad attitude, and enjoys whining, but is really nice once you get to know him. he generally only obeys howl, but you can get to him through blackmail, and by smothering him in kindness over a period of time. he became much nicer once he was freed from the curse that connected him to howl. he still dislikes strangers, and mistrusts most people. calcifer can transform into a magic carpet, and cart people around, but only if someone he trusts is there.

Haku is a very serious, and cold hearted spirit, but can be very kind to those he cares about. his heart is hard but can be melted if worked at hard enough. he is a likeable character that always wants to do what he is told, and is very strong and curagious. if he sets out to do something, he most always gets it done.

he has no magical powers, the only thing magical about him is that he had all of his memories erased. he now thinks he is Aki's father, and had a terrible accident, which caused him to be in a coma for several months. the reality is that howl, removed his memories, and replaced them by Aki's request. before howl took his memories, he was a criminal, with several felonies to his name. his existance has been erased from the minds of anybody taht knew him except Aki. he is slowly turning into a person again, with each new experience, and with each new person he meets. he is overprotective of Aki, and does not want anybody near her. he is afraid that somebody will hurt her. Aki is slightly afraid of him. He is very suspicious of new people, but he doesnt show it, and acts very carefree, even when he is tense, angry or scared. he only is willing to fight if Aki is in trouble.
