Hey y'all, this here's a story I'm gonna be writing chapter by chapter here on my Gaia Journal for the reading pleasure for all who wish to read it! I don't yet have a title for it, so suggestions would be appreciated!

Chapter One- Memory

'Ugh'.... I thought to myself as I sat up in bed. Looking around, I see a crappy motel room. Sighing, I cradle my head in my hands. "Man, I think my head's gonna explode...", I mumble to myself, feeling the headache throb with each beat of my heart. Standing carefully, I wobble across the room drunkenly, the only thing saving me from falling is the edge of the desk I catch hold of. Blinking, I see a gun, as well as exactly fifty bullets on the desk, neatly lined up. '.45ACP Heckler and Kosch HK 45C semi-automatic pistol. Most recent sidearm released by the German weapons manufacturing company 'Heckler and Kosch'. Has an 8 round magazine capacity, 100mm long barrel, and weighs 717 grams unloaded.' Stepping back, I blink, "Woah, where'd that come from?", I say to myself. Looking at my hand, I see the hand of a caucasion male. Blinking, I look to my left. A mirror. My reflection shocks me. A male, around 27 years old, shorn brown hair, and dark brown eyes. The face has a healthy muscular look to it. Looking over my body, I find myself naked, and confused as to who and where I am. Laughing wryly, I think, "I can tell you anything and everything about that pistol, but I can't remember who I am.' Looking around the room, I find a dresser, empty, a bed, a nightstand, and a bathroom. Inside the dresser is a folded up jumpsuit, grey, with a single word stenciled on the back: Mason. Underneath it is a piece of newspaper with a phone number scribbled on it. The piece of newspaper is only a date and the name of a column:

Aug 14, 2010, Police arrest man for grissly murder of twenty people.

Blinking, I shake my head, "That can't be me, can it?" Shrugging, I put the jumpsuit on, it fits perfectly. Loading the weapon quickly, I slip it and the other 48 bullets into my left pocket, the piece of newspaper into the other. Heading fot the door, I head a sound from the bathroom. 'The sound of cut glass sliding against glass.', I think tomyself. "What the ********? How can one man pick out a sound and itenty it perfectly?", I mumble. I figure I'd have a better chance of getting the upper hand on the intruder if the lights are out. Sure enough, a 3D map forms in my head. I know exactly where each piece of furnature is, the exact distance between any two pieces of furnature, and the exact size of each one.Taking 14 steps, he finds himself right by the bathroom door. Slowly, the door starts opening. The first thing that comes out is the barrel of a silenced pistol, followed by the weapon, and a hand. 'Colt Double Eagle .9mm semi-auto pistol, standard police issue from 1991-200, until the Colt SSP replaced it in May of 2000. Holds a...' I stop myself by shaking my head silently. Seeing an arm, I give a high kick, knocking the gun out the intruder's hand, causing their arm to hit the door, making it fly open. Quickly and efficintly, I spin around to face the attacker. It's clearly a man, and he draws a combat knife with his other hand, slashing at me. Deftly sidestepping, it passes within millimeters of my face, seeming to move much slower then it should. Grabbing the assailant's wrist, I break his wrist and arm, then kick his right kneecap, causing a sickening cracking sound. Falling to one knee, he sobs in pain, his right leg sitting at an unnatural angle, and his left arm hanging limply by his side. Taking out the pistol, I aim it at his head. Thats when the lights flip on. Swiftly spinning, I make my way behind the man, aiming my pistol at the door where the lightswitch is, all in a fraction of a second. A man and a woman stand there. The man is old, probably in his late 60's, and the woman is young, in her early twenties, and looks Spanish or Columbian.

"Very good, Steven. You did even better then I thought you would.", says the man. still staring at the man, I say, "Tell me what's going on. You have three secondes before I blow your head off, starting now." He smirks, "I see. So you really don't remember. That's quite unfortunate, really. After all, such a good speciman must not be allowed to harm people." I shake my head, my eyes constantly on him, "Who are you, who am I , where am I, and what do you want with me?" The woman steps forward now, saying, "Your name is Seven Mason. You are 28 years old, and you have just been tested. You're a Gunnerey Sergent in the United Stated Marines. Well, you were, until you murdered twenty people while having an episode of PTSD. You even killed ten police officers while in the station. As for who we are, I am Alexis Fernandez, and this is Dr. Coleman." I blink. Did I really do that? Am I really this person they say I am? Looking just past the two, I see three men armed with AK-74s at the doorway, watching on with bemused smirks on their faces. "Who are they?", I ask, thumbing back the hammer. "Oh, them?", Coleman asks, looking back at the men, "They're my insurance policy, to make you you don't get away from me." I sigh, "What do you want with me, and how do you know me?" "What we want from you", Alexis speaking this time, "Is your cooperation. That's all. As for how we know you, be got you out of that blasted military prison you were in." "You see Steven", Coleman says, "You were the perfect speciman. We offered you a seconed chance at life, if you would cooperate. Some doctors specialize in medical healthy, some in biotechnical researche. My field, however, is genetic manipulation."
I pause. "Genetic manipulation?", I say, now confused. "Yes. You see, the government is funding my project to attempt to make the perfect killing machine. Many have failed because they try to make one from scratch. I just figured, why not take a soldier and make him better. I did, and you were that soldier." I shake my head, this time closing my eyes, "What if I don't want a part of this anymore?" Coleman smirks, "My dear boy, you no longer have a choice. Once you signed the wavier, you gave up all your rights, as well as your life, to me."
Vaulting backwards, I crash through the glass of the bathroom window, amazed at my athlettics skills, and begin the 10 story fall. To my amazement, I land on my feet in a crouching position. Standing up, I look at the window I just crashed through to see the Dr. Coleman and Alexis looking through. they disappear and I hear them barking orders at the men in the doorway. "Well, don't just stand there, you morons, go get him!", Coleman shouts. Even though they're far away, and through a wall, I can hear the words perfectly, as well as a siren off in the distance, headed this way. I don't care if it's not headed for this destination, I'm out of here. Looking around, I find myself in an alleyway. Sprinting for the end, the three men from the doorwayappear at the mouth of the alley and level their weapons, making me stop. I look around and do some quick calculations in my head. Pausing, I think to myself, 'Wait, how can I do all of this? Wait, I'll try and figure it out later.' Jumping, I do a split with my legs, holding me up in the alley, and take out my pistol. The shots ring out into the night, and three men fall dead, a small bullet hole in each of their foreheads. Hopping down, I start sprinting again. Rounding a corner, I hop into a trash can and watch three black vans screetch around the corner and drive off in different direction.

After about twenty minutes, I stand and climb out of the can. 'Ugh, I smell like garbage. Oh well, a price I'm willing to pay for my freedom.' Looking around, I survey my surroundings. There's a strip club, a clothing store, and a pawn shop, as well as two apartment buildings, including the one I was in. Looking at myself, I know I need to get some new clothing, so I head for the store. Breaking the glass, I hop in, hearing an alarm. I quickly browse through the clothes, picking out ones that look like they'll fit, then disappearing into the night.

Tell me what you think, I'm gonna be writing more as time goes on, this will be one of the stories I'm going to be actively updating here.
