“Bliss.” The words jumped out of her mouth as Emma ran to embrace Bliss in a motherly hug. “Did they treat you alright? Oh honey, you look absolutely pale, once we get you to the car you can lay your head down and rest.” Bliss nodded. Too tired to think, Bliss let Emma lead her to the car and got inside. Energy drained, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath and tried to push pain the pain and the confusion that had built and built upon her on the past couple days.
“Those officers treated you with respect right? Because if they didn’t I’ve the mind to go back there and tell them a thing or two. No one hurts my Bliss and gets away with it.” Emma stated as she stole a glance at Bliss. Bliss shook her head.
“ They didn’t do anything. I’m just tired that’s all.” Bliss replied softly as tears started to silently roll down her face. Bravado fleeing as wave of emotions started crashing down on her. Keith was dead, and the police thought him to be a killer. She chuckled with irony, a cold chuckle that sent chills down Emma’s back.
“Bliss? What happened back there?” Emma asked pulling to a stop in front of the house Bliss, Keith, and Kit had all shared at one point in time. Bliss got out of the car.
“It’s nothing, thanks for taking me home Emma.” Bliss shut the car door and made her way up the front porch steps. Once inside the house Bliss looked around , eyes narrowing as she picked up a note left on the hallway table by the door.

If you’re reading this, I’m already gone. I haven’t a clue as what to say other than the loss of my brother is impossible for me to understand. I don’t think however, that I’ll be coming back to the house anytime soon. My brother as all the family I had left in this world, and now that he’s gone, I don’t have anything left. I’ve decided to move back into the hospital and make myself available to the patients whenever they need me.. I’ll probably return once I come to terms with my brother’s death, but when that’ll be, I don’t know.
I hope one day we can be as close as we were before this nightmare began.

Bliss crumpled the note and threw it against the wall. She couldn’t believe it. Once again she was alone in the world, this time however, she wasn’t crippled. Was this her punishment for pushing herself to regain what was supposed to never work again? She started to laugh as the pain of betrayal shot through her body. The laughter dripped with cold hatred as it echoed off the walls of the now empty house. She closed her eyes and slid down the wall. Resting her arms on her legs she stared up at the ceiling, and for the first time since Keith’s death, she cried.
