Robo Elf had a wonderful idea to share our family history with one another. So I thought I would post mine in case anyone is interested!
Here is my family tree!
My father's side has always lived in the heart of the North Pole, where things are always busy. Wyler is a Christmas Scholar. He studies Christmas history and loves to talk about Christmas past. He is so serious! I often wonder how he and my Gramma Francine fell in love. Francine is very social and friendly. She invites the other ladies of high Christmas society over for tea all the time while Granpa Wyler pours over books in his study.
After years of trying, they finally had my Daddy and named him Graham. Wyler had great plans for his son to study Old Christmas History and a scholarly heir, but was upset to see that Daddy inherited Francine's jovial personality. Daddy was more interested in sneaking bites to eat off of Francine's tea table or going outside and pouring maple syrup over snow for a yummy treat.
When my Daddy grew up, he found work in Santa's Kitchens. He started as a dishwasher and worked his way up to chef! He is a great cook and the big man loves his dishes!
One day my Daddy took a trip out of the city and into the quiet country to gather up fresh winterberries his dishes. While he was walking about, he heard a sweet humming sound. Peering though some bushes, he saw my Mother walking, humming to herself as she smelled a beautiful red rose. He fell in love at first sight but knew such a pretty girl would never fall in love with his chubby self. He went to walk away but slipped on some ice and fell through the bushes. The girl helped him up and they began to talk. The girl's name was Gloria and she was off by herself for a wintersday picnic. She invited Graham to sit with her and eat, and after one small bite of Gloria's picnic my Daddy really knew he was in love, heehee! My Momma fell in love with my Daddy too, as she felt very safe and comforted by his presence. It was a love match!

My Daddy told his parents about Momma and they were quite shocked Daddy had fallen in love with someone from the country. Likewise, Momma's parents were afraid of her being taken advantage of by 'some city boy'. My Granpa Michele is a winterberry farmer and my Granma Joy keeps their tiny, snug hut clean and knits Christmas stockings for the nearby village. They are used to their quiet life and were worried for Momma moving to the city. Likewise the other country folk did not want to let Momma move to the city, as everyone would miss her Christmas spirit: the way she would leave holly and winterberries on porches, or weave evergreen garlands, or sing a carol at night. But in the end no one could deny the sweet love between my parents!
My parents got married and have had a really happy life! They had me and named me Ginger because my Daddy loves to cook with ginger and my Granpa Michele grows a tiny patch of it every year for my family. I have inherited my Daddy's love of food and cooking, as well as his friendly personality...and from my Momma I got my passion for Christmas and doing nice things for others! My parents saw that I would be a good candidate for the Elves, so here I am!
Well, that's my family story!
