What I Did Not Like
Lurkers - Lurkers, lurkers, lurkers. It was impossible to have a decent thread for tipping/zapping cows without someone sneaking up and taking all of the cows posters earned. This wasn't a problem, however, in threads with no rules. But when you create a thread that specifically says that people should only take the cows under their posts and it's not respected you tend to get angry. I got so angry, in fact, that I debated quitting Gaia for about a week - if not more - for the sake of keeping from extremely flaming certain Gaians whom I shall not name.
Early Ending - The trick-or-treating ended while the party was extended to Saturday...it just made no sense to me. It also grated on my nerves that I only had two candies left to collect before I got another bag. Would it really have been too hard to explain that trick-or-treating would end? I mean, there was an announcement about the party's extension and many people assumed the trick-or-treating would be extended too. Furthermore, I would have liked if they'd allowed everyone with stored candies to finish that one trick-or-treat session.
Elitists - Those who keep saying that nobody else (referring to those that didn't participate) should be able to obtain the alien skin are just plain disgusting! Nobody had to "work hard" to change (which is GREAT) so just get off your freaking high-horse and stop acting like you're worth a zillion dollars because you participated in the event. GROW UP! *ahem*
Off-center - The alien bodies look much better than I initially thought and work well with most clothes. However, since the head is for some unknown reason off-center, some hats look horrible with it and eyeware/faceware just looks wrong with an alien skin.
What I Did Like
Slow-Connection Friendliness - Thank you so, so much for considering people on slow connections!
- Action Delay - The delay between actions was great for users like myself who otherwise would have had all their cows taken due to being on a slow connection. Those with faster connections weren't able to get in and take cow after cow (or alien/human after alien/human) within five seconds. They had to wait 30 seconds between each action!
Two Places to Get Candy - Those of us with slow connections could trick-or-treat in the NPC shops to gain the same items those who could get into towns had available. This is the main thing I am grateful for! Especially since in towns you had to get 100 candies and in the shops you only had to get 10.
The Skin - It was only 50g to turn alien and 50g to turn back human unlimited times. Unlike last year (which I have heard of), you weren't stuck with the skin for all eternity and you didn't have to commit your entire life for the event to getting the skin. Also, despite the problem listed in the other section, I liked the alien skins much more than I thought I would. I have two spare sets of energy drinks just so I can transform at will whenever I so desire later on this year or next year.
Forum Actions - The forum actions were great! I loved the tipping/zapping/probing so much that I did it many times. Whee!
Jack'd Set - The Jack'd set for 2k6 absolutely rocks! The skirt is beautiful and even though the shoes/gloves/pants/mask aren't much my style, they're very well drawn. The hat could use a bit of work, but it's a great alternative to the super-overpriced OMG hat which I'd like to one day have.
Event Items - The cow bell is my favourite, followed closely by the alien probe. However, all four items are quite awesome (even if the 4d goggles don't much suit my style). These are items that are so neat I won't even sell the two I never plan to use (goggles and tin foil hat). Very collectable and kudos to the staff in making more than one pose available for the probe.
That's it for now. If I can think of anything else, I'll add it here.
