Worker's Journal
"I need a vacation..."
It's been weeks of hard studying and work ahead of me, I've finally finished them all. From exams to looking for some news, I finally have time for a vacation... Dupree, my intern, suggested that I take a rest from my work here in the Daily Prophet, approving papers and studying at Hogwarts. I'm still young, but I finally got my dream job as a journalist.
I have been working nonstop for weeks to finish my articles, I'm almost as famous as Rita Skeeter, not as famous... But almost. She writes lies and gossip, but I am different, I write differently. So now, It's almost summer, more time to work... Less time to study.
Summer is the best time to get breaking news stories so Dupree suggested a vacation, a 3 day vacation from work, from Hogwarts and from the Wizarding World. We left for Italy days ago, it's actually great to see my siblings, Leia, Frida and Anthony, Dupree went along. I brought along my specially signed, Nicholas Flamel's Alchemist book, which I read on our way to Venice.
On the first day, we traveled around Venice. going through boat rides and the food, we acted like normal muggles while on my hometown, which I'm not used to doing since I grew up in a magical environment.
The second day, we went to the beach. It was quite pleasing since I haven't had a swim since I was 14, two years ago. Eventually, Dupree's wand got lost at the beach, he carried it around as he swam around the beach. His mother is going to be so mad at him.
On the third day, we left for Scotland. I went back to Hogwarts along with Dupree. And now here I am, writing this article. When I went on my way to work, a red rose was left on my desk, I kept it and placed it on a vase. Thanks to the anonymous gift giver...
That was my time on vacation... My siblings wrote a letter to me, telling me that they will try to visit Hogwarts sometime. I enjoyed the simple 3 day trip I took to my hometown... Venice, Italy.
This article is just an insight on what people on the Daily Prophet call... A break.
