My biologiacll father can read minds, found out as a kid, nearly drove him crazy manny a time. I can sence the presence of spirits as well as read the energy around me (so basically i know what people's true intentions are without even having to try), that drave me crazy untill I learned how to controll it. I can also apartently open portals, I accidently let a bunch of demons into my best friends house one time, took her a while to get rid of them. I'm not the only one who can do that, we both did a bunch of research and found out there are many people who do that without even knowing it. Wanna know the best part? most of them are dead by now, this ability tends to kill you eventually.

You guys say it'd be cool to have powers like this stuff, and in a way I guess it is, but it can also be quite dangerous. I've been doing research, trying to find out about other people with these kinds of abilities, and what I find is not good.

There was one guy who had a portall open in his basement that he couldn't close, so he made an alter down there with a bunch of candles and other stuff. When his mom asked, he told her,
"The day those candles go out I will die." She was cleaning in the basement one day and a few of the candles went out. She didn't think anything of it, untill she got a call saying her son was dead. They ranked it a suicide, he fell from the roof a building.

Some people become possessed by the things they unknowingly let out, others are killed by them, others simply go mad, while others yet are marked insane and locked up in a padded cell, pumped full of enough sedatives to keep them in a vegetable state for the rest of their lives.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, maybe you should put just a bit more thought into your choices. Or I suppose you could not, all the same...
