I have quite a conundrum on my hands. Ever get asked the question "What do you want to do with your life?" Then as you grow up you get asked the question so much you virtually hate it and are on the verge of sticking your foot in the a** of the person who asks next? Well I'm at that point and now I have to make a decision. Air Traffic Controller or Computer Programmer.
For the former, Air Traffic Control is one of the most stressful jobs available. A person has to make quick decisions and computations in order to direct air traffic and keep the millions of lives in the air safe. This is a supreme challenge and I'm interested in it. It has good pay and it's challenging, something that will take me to the apex of my abilities, however. It's stressful not to mention training takes two years and part of that training is in Oklahoma City, OK 418 miles from where I currently live.
For the latter, Computer Programming is a rapidly expanding market. If I choose this career field I'd be focusing on Robotics and I'd be in demand. Pay ranges from paltry to really nice and I could live at my own pace. Despite this, I'd be starting out low on the totem pole and have iffy job security.
Le sigh, I just don't know what I want to do anymore.
