      Name ;; Tarragon Clover Graham

      Nicknames ;;

        [Tara] :: The name originated from long before she was under the control of the black joker. Tara was simply her everyday name to all those who knew her including family, friends and strangers. Her full name was rarely used because it seemed to out of the blue.

        [Clover] :: This nickname came up when Tarragon was under the influence of The Black Joker and it replaced her first name in many cases. She uses and used this name as her calling card. When people need her assistance or her skills they call on Clover; not Tarragon.

        [Ghost] :: People she knew started to call her ghost when she hit university at nineteen and the reason for this was her pale skin and inexplicable capability of arriving in the room without a sound and all around being the quiet one.

      Age ;; Seven times three

      Gender ;; You make me feel like a beautiful woman.

      Sexual Orientation ;; I ♥ Men → Heterosexual

Appearance ;;

Could it be the alluring perfume or the stunning natural red hair with blond highlights that makes anyone stop and stare at Tarragon? It could be any number of things but one thing is for sure, she is unique and that inspiration came from her own name; Tarragon Glover Graham. Tarragon adores herself and everything that she is. A beautiful young woman comfortable in her own skin is the best way to describe the way she takes care of herself.

From top to bottom Tarragon is always well kept. She is clean and fresh every day from showering often. Her hair is always brushed straight; unless should it be a formal occasion, and her clothing is well…We’ll get to that later. Her hair is a natural deep reddish brown but from countless days outdoors and within the reaches of the sun the colour has gradually lightened to a crimson red and varies in tones when under the reflection of any kind of light. Add to this deep crimson are a series of blond highlights courtesy of a wild night. Let’s not get into the details of what happened here.

Her skin is about a level three on a scale of one to ten; ten being dark tanned almost chocolate brown. The trouble with Tarragon is that she barely tans. The source of this trouble is her origin; a mixed heritage of Japanese and French. It doesn’t bother her at all though because it allows for her to stay true to her third nickname and having beautiful golden brown skin isn’t on her list of things she has to do and accomplish.

When it comes to make up and other beauty products they’re something that Tarragon steers clear of whenever she can. She doesn’t like to have to amplify her features unless she needs to say for instance she has to use her looks to allure a young man so that she can use him. But when it comes to just being herself Tarragon always has a clean face with maybe a touch of mascara. Along with her clean face are deep hazel eyes that often express her opinions or emotions and lips that are a light peach. Her eyes are the doorway to what she is feeling on a regular day. If she’s angry then they appear more golden and light brown; if she’s upset then her eyes are a dark and far deeper tone of brown.

So, enough about what her head looks like; Tarragon has a rather athletic body type given her profession. She has a toned muscle on her abs and legs due to working out regularly as well as a tight tummy and waist. She wouldn’t ever let herself get out of a peak physical condition. She stands at around 5”11 and weighs around 138 pounds. She doesn’t really care about her weight either; it’s not something to be concerned over in her opinion.

And lastly, as for clothing it really depends what season and what Tarragon is doing. When she takes a persona or character then she wears whatever suits the part. When she is being herself you’ll find her wearing clothing that is casual perhaps a white pinstriped blouse over jeans with a tank top underneath. She keeps her look classy to show that she isn’t a teenager anymore but she keeps it casual enough to explain that she is still a young woman.

Personality ;;

It can be said that many people don’t ever try to be themselves. Instead they try everything to be like their idol or favourite character from a classic story. How many woman have tried to make themselves in Barbie? How many men have tried to be Ken? It cannot be said. But one thing is for certain; Tarragon is not one of those people. She is comfortable in her own skin which is perhaps the best way to describe the thief she is in reality and when not under the influence of The Black Knight.

Tarragon is much like a fox; sly and cunning. She is an actress of many personas and characters which most have been mastered by placing herself in front of a mirror. She knows how to play people and how to prey on them. She knows how to get inside of their heads and make them unsure of themselves and become ridden with guilt about something they did or have to do. She likes to play with people in a cruel way; so much so that she enjoys it. For almost the whole of her life she has been played or toyed with by people which drove her to what she is.

She has a unique talent for acting but never once would she tell you that it is the bulk of her career and quite simply it isn’t. Acting is not what makes her into the master thief. She is a skilled tactician and knows how to think out plans and scenarios in her head. She knows how to grab things with a flick of her wrist; she knows how to make a switch with only the opening of her coat. She is wicked fast with movements and silent as the dead when she does them.

Being a thief is all Tarragon ever wanted to be and it is a career choice that she admires. She knows that it takes skill and a cunning wit to pull off a heist and she does appreciate others who indulge in the same career choice as herself. She enjoys the competition and the adrenalin of having another person to compete with and with that said; she is very much the independent player. She hates having dependence on another person because if they do something wrong then she might have to go back and fix it. Tarragon prefers to do most of everything when it comes to her career on her own. She plans each phase down to the second and she completes each phase without hesitation.

When she isn’t stealing something or playing with a person then Tarragon is just being herself. She doesn’t take the time to relax often so when she is on her own then usually she is indulging in her favourite activities which includes cooking, computers and listening to music among things. On her own time she is just a young bachelorette; but not your typical bachelorette. Tarragon isn’t a girly girl and her appearance can often show to those around her that she really isn’t. She will read the occasional magazine but in truth the magazines that she reads are usually about guns and weapons. She will pamper herself occasionally if cooking a gourmet meal would fit into that category.

In the end Tarragon is a young woman and she is in no hurry to rush through her life. She thoroughly enjoys her career and being thief but also just being herself on her own time.

Other assorted facts:

She is never cocky, arrogant or egotistical unless it is a character she is playing. She is a professional and considers herself one but will never admit it to another person. She is picky about little things especially when things need to be cleaned or dusted.

History ;;

She was a pretty baby born as an accident and one who was supposed to be terminated. She was a pregnancy that was frowned upon and her birth mother was only sixteen years old at the time. However her life was not the sad story that was her conceiving for the young teenager had been smart enough to not leave the baby in a trash bag in a dumpster but instead had chosen an adoptive couple. They were the picture perfect kind of parents; a young in love couple who were looking into adopting as the wife could not have a baby due to a brief stint with cancer. And so the baby was unnamed by it’s birth mother and passed into the arms of the parents without clause.

The name Tarragon was announced by the mother. The father only agreed to the name because it wasn’t like the others that had been discussed. And so the baby grew up with the name of a common spice in the kitchen and although her parents were more unique then most she was adored. Her childhood however was not filled with lavish objects and expensive toys. The baby grew up with her mother most of the time as the father spent enormous time away from the house. It was unknown what he was doing by the mother and the child but all they knew was that money arrived by cheque at the bank every two weeks and it was enough to get by. When it came to schooling her mother steered clear of any public schools and because they didn’t have enough money to send Tarragon to a boarding school she was home schooled. At first it didn’t seem like Tarragon’s education would ever amount to much. The distance had been made between her parents by the time she was six and when she turned seven it was no surprise that her mother asked for a divorce; things just weren’t working. What was shocking however was the custody battle that ensued. Tarragon’s father wanted full custody of the child with no visitation from his wife. And in the end he won on the claim that his wife was half insane; trying to school the daughter on her own. Several things were made clear during the time about her mother and in the end she was diagnosed with schizophrenia shortly after Tarragon was turned over to her father.

Her father moved Tarragon to Europe and gave her a home on a beautiful expansive property. The house was a mansion and elegantly crafted. Because they lived in a remote region she was schooled by her father in the depths of the large library. He at least knew how to teach her properly and she soaked up anything he taught her like a sponge. The schooling continued and Tarragon lived a wonderful life for two years as she got to know her father better and grow closer to him. But when she turned ten her mother died and it was a shocking thing. She hadn’t expected to really see her mother much afterwards but to not be able to see her ever again was a striking thought. It broke Tarragon down and in the end it was something rather different that brought her out of the mild depression. Her father took her with him to the United States. They did not go to the funeral. They did not go to her home town where she had grown up. No, it was far different. He took Tarragon with him to one of his heist meetings. She sat in the car while they all stood outside talking. She was intrigued about the words they spoke and as she sat there she read the lips of the eight grown men and woman as they discussed thievery and much more. She knew that she had stolen things in the past; like her best friend Ali’s favourite doll and a book from the library but what her father spoke about drew her away from the fact that her mother was dead and it was only the beginning.

The beginning of what you may be thinking. Well, after that day in the car Tarragon moved onto something of a new lifestyle. She thought of her mother in a disliking manner. All of the years that she had spent with the woman and in reality she had only kept her daughter for the money towards medication for her illness and it was an illness that was concealed from her daughter and husband. Tarragon moved back to the mansion and at eleven was sent to a private boarding school in France. There she learned French and her father’s side of her heritage. He visited her often and praised her good work. In secret Tarragon worked on plans to steal things. It was the adrenaline and her own capability of doing so that she came up with the plans; all of which needed three to four people. As her circle of friends grew she got herself comfortable with a few who shared her views. At twelve four young woman went out into the night. They broke into one of the local shops at the mall by cutting a hole through the roof and dropping into the shop on the top floor. They began to steal what they wanted which were mostly objects of personal desire. However they were caught. Someone had noticed the flashlight beam from one of the girls and called it in. Tarragon was ratted out and arrested while the other girls got off on the lies that supposedly Tarragon had blackmailed them into helping her. It was all lies but when Tarragon’s father arrived she was fortunate that he had friends in high places. Within a day the charges were released but because of the incident Tarragon was expelled from the school. She was returned home with her belongings and within a week everything she had seemed to have gone down the drain. Her father spoke to her knowing that her talents weren’t exactly something to be suppressed. He was a thief himself but he didn’t tell that to Tarragon. He contacted his colleagues while keeping Tarragon under house arrest at the mansion. They met outside and discussed his daughter’s position. Some of them were father’s but none of them had dealt with it.

In the end Tarragon was punished like any other child would have been. She was only twelve. Her father took the chance to stay home and school her himself once again. They focused on many subjects and it lasted for another two years before Tarragon was given the chance to go to a private school. The past incident was forgotten and Tarragon continued her schooling while her Father began to travel again. She went through school with honours and focused on her grades. She graduated successfully and was even nominated for valedictorian but she did not win and it was something that she didn’t mind. Her high school years had taught her to be comfortable in her own skin.

She was accepted into a university for an architect course however she never showed up on the first day. On the same day that she was supposed to be in her orientation Tarragon was stealing. She was contacted by several people, none of which were at all related to her father’s heists. She got into several jobs. They all seemed to be going fine. She made it past two unscathed however on the third she was betrayed. When the heist went wrong everything was dumped on her; the actress. Tarragon took the blame and acted through it. She was sick of being played and being used at the easy way out. She was sick of a whole lot and so with great dislike she escaped police custody. Through years of schooling she had taken martial arts courses and her father had taught her a great deal associated with self defence on his own time. Getting away from the police was no big deal for her and she made her way back to the mansion where she left a note for her father and disappeared.

Tarragon never saw her father again. She had told him to meet her at a certain spot at a certain time and he never showed. She fled and altered what she could about her appearance. Her hiding place was Phnon Penh Cambodia. She paid cash for everything and made her way through life taking nothing for granted. She hid and laid low knowing that she would be looked for. Her spare time allowed for her to plan out many schemes and take some of her own time to relax and regain her thought and wit. She trained hard when it came to her physical and mental state. Then things started to crumble. The world itself seemed to be torn apart. She watched on the television and listened on the radio as reports flooded the airways and channels. Events were happening around the world and it could not be said why. It was on a late night run that she found something that altered her path through life. It washed up on the sand and paper cut the side of her bare foot which caused for her to give it her attention. When she picked it up she thought it was just a joke. A card? But it was so unique. She stood there in the darkness peeling her fingers over its surface. When she returned to her home, a small house on the beach, she got a better look at it. It was just a playing card and to be more precise it was the ten of spades. Then it happened. She turned around at the shadow in her door. She had been prepared to see the police standing her down and ready to fire. After a year and a half of hiding she was still more then paranoid about it. But instead the shadow was of a young woman and when the voice spoke she knew that it was almost as if the woman was possessed. What ensued after is dark to Tarragon. All she knows is that after she left with the woman, taking everything she owned with her, the world around Cambodia began to collapse. She watched on the news as she sat on a boat out in the middle of the ocean as reporters announced tornado’s had been touching down in the area. A tornado had never been heard of in the region and it was more than enough to make Tarragon align herself with The Black Joker. From then on she was Tara and never went by her full name. If anything she used her middle name Clover. It’s what she named her transformation after she got the hang of using the card.

Likes ;;

What Tarragon likes and adores include many things most of which aren’t commonly seen with a woman but instead a man. And even with the common feminist out there after her for liking and doing what she does Tarragon continues on with her lifestyle. When she gets the time she gets back at those who offend her.

Stealing :: being a thief has been in her blood since she was born and even as a young child it was an act that she committed to. Her father was a professional but never would he be able to imagine his daughter following in his footsteps. It was originally hoped that she would go to school and become an architect but of course things never go as they are planned. Tarragon likes to steal because of the rush it brings and much more.

Travelling :: being able to see the world is something that she likes about her profession; it permits her to do exactly that. Tarragon loves to see the different cultures and their lifestyles. She loves to see where she came from and what kind of people have influenced her to become who she is.

Cooking :: being in a kitchen and being able to create the most mouth watering aromas is something that Tarragon takes pride in. Perhaps you could say her love of cooking started when she found out that her name was actually a common spice however cooking is quite simply something she takes a joy in. Tarragon loves food and eating gourmet at home is quite the treat.

Reading :: having been homeschooled by her father and mother reading always allowed for Tarragon to learn and become the intellectual being that she is. Reading is still something that Tarragon indulges in whether it is for the knowledge or the pleasure of reading a good story.

Other likes include: sailing, boating, fencing, planning, writing, music, computers, chess, solitaire and culture.

Dislikes ;;

Dislike is probably the best way to describe what is listed below. Tarragon doesn’t exactly ‘hate’ a lot of things she just strongly dislikes them. What she hates are things that have caused trouble in her life more than once and still are. What she dislikes are the little things that annoy her or cause agitation.

Mess :: to be unorganized is a sin. It’s something that Tarragon will tell you point blank and straight up if she finds a person to have a messy lifestyle. She won’t clean up after others either; instead she just won’t work with you. Mess means that things will be lost or damaged and that’s the last thing that Tarragon wants.

Stupidity :: having come from a low income family Tarragon is far better off for one reason. She fought to be educated and because of this she frowns upon those who take education and intelligence for granted. Stupidity is something that Tarragon does not tolerate because it leads to mass mistakes and mayhem.

Teamwork :: having to depend on another person is not something that Tarragon does. She has a strong dislike for group work because she had immense troubles placing faith in a person. She’s been let down too many times in her life to trust people fully.

Liars :: people who lie to Tarragon are treated like people who disrespect her.

Other dislikes include: heavy metal, rap and screamo music, checkers, children, planes, plants, cats, and wasting time.

Transformed character ;; Clover Hack

Identity ;; The Black Knight

Transformation ;;

Held tightly between her index and middle fingers is the card itself and with the utter of a familiar Latin phrase it all begins.

The air seems to thicken as a seemingly black fog surrounds her. To those who surround her the only part of her that is visible are her eyes which emit a hazy golden glow. It may seem to occur slowly but only seconds after the fog as appeared a messy eruption of colours ensure. Blues, greens and varying shades in between light up the area that surrounds and it is then that a wind starts to blow; just a gust but long enough for as it whips through her wicked red hair the colour fades into a brown. The wind then comes again in weak cycles as streaks of green and teal form in her now brown hair and also creates a headpiece cutting across her pale forehead.

The wind then stops and the spray of colours and the dark fog remain. Bursts of light emit from her clothing as it transforms into a far more ‘elemental’ appearance. Her top elongates into a jack and green corset. Forming the back of her top and glowing a golden shade are ten individual spades and they continue to glow until the end. Her pants then burst into a shade of white before being concealed under the length of her top. In the end the fog seems to tighten around her closing in on her body and fading away from the surroundings. In one final act the fog comes together and wraps around her legs before bursting golden sparks thus revealing knee length boots. But also during this process the fog has wrapped itself around other sections of her body choosing to create long gauntlets on her arms and a long sash around her neck. Each object emits a series of golden sparks after the boots have been revealed. In the end of this pahse she is surrounded by the glitter her eyes showing off a far more golden tone than before.

The final pieces of her appearance arrive without delay. As soon as the sparks have fallen a spade fades onto the side of her white pants just lower than her hip. Last to come onto the stage is the sword which forms from the card which must be held in her hand during the transformation. She flicks it up into the air with a swoop of her hand and the card then bursts, almost exploding, sending golden sparks and streams of teals and greens. Then out of the haze that it has created the weapon emerges and she simply only need grab the handle of the majestic sword and bring it down to her side.

Appearance ;;

The alterations of Tarragon’s appearance make her into a completely alternate person although if you look closely certain features remain the same and easily with a second glance would anyone be able to piece together who she is. The main differences are easy to spot. No longer is she a brilliant red head with a spray of blond streaks but has long dark brown hair with assorted highlights of blues, greens and shades in between. The former length of her hair elongates about four inches longer and is choppier in layers. Her eyes are without a doubt the second biggest change. Their former hazel brown hues instantly change into a golden yellow shade that darkens or lightens depending on her mood (at least something stayed the same). Added to the beauty of her new eyes is permanent makeup; blue, green and teal markings surround her eyes and cause the golden shades to appear all the more vibrant. Her lips also become slightly darker and appear to have a more feminine hue. Otherwise her notable features from before remain the same. Her skin is still pale with minor differences in tone; her body remains athletic in build and her height and weight remain unchanged.

Her attire when transformed will barely ever change as it has the important markings that show her identity off to her fellow beings. Twisted around her neck is a long sash with an ever changing gradient of white, blue, green and shades in between. It twists around her body and flows as if some magical force has possessed it to do so. When she walks it flows out behind her but when she stops it circles her in almost an angelic manner. Entwined in her now brown and multi-hued hair is a hairpiece that resembles a folded up Chinese fan. Attached to this hairpiece is a headpiece that cuts across her forehead. Hanging down from this headpiece are a variety of beads and charms showing off the spade suit. Moving on from her head; her arms are wrapped in an upper arm length gauntlet and sleeve. The lower portion of her arm has a metal plate and guard which stops at the elbow but a dark brown and green sleeve continues up and is tied corset style on the side of her arm. Her top is composed of two pieces. The bottom piece is a longer flowing piece of fabric that is wrapped around her body. The end of the fabric spews out of the back where intricate golden markings are easily visible as well as several beads and charms (matching the headpiece) danger gently. The top part of her top is a thick heavier piece of fabric with a green metallic dragon pattern that edges the sides. It ties around her back and is tight. This part of the top is there to protect her upper body as much as she can. For pants she wears simple white leggings which are thick and durable. They are barely seen due to the length of her top but also because of the boots and guards that cover her leg. Together the guard and boot look like one boot however they are in two pieces. A thick leather boot with silver markings covers her leg up to her knee. Then a guard made of the same material as the top part of her top covers a portion of her shin and upper thigh. The designs on this guard are far simpler than the ones on her bodice. All together the outfit has a rather elemental feel.

Weapon ;;

x

The weapon of the ten of spades is a rather unique longsword which demonstrates the overall elemental feel of the card. The blade is long and has a rather antique feel. From top to handle the blade is long, given its name, and reaches a staggering ninety centimetres in length. Its weight to the user is weightless and when used to swipe through the air the blade emits a green and blue gradient haze.

The sword itself is beautifully crafted. The handle is a heavier material than the blade and its colour is blade with a metallic green undercoat of colour that shines brightly under light. The bottom of the handle is a larger knob which just out sharply at the edges making almost a diamond shape that continues on into the sword. The actual handle is smooth apart of various engravings and markings on the knob and connecting piece between the blade and the handle. The connecting piece is rather unique for a sword as it looks as if bat wings spread out from the handle only upside down. The blade continues becoming jagged shortly after the connecting piece with the handle and cutting in near the middle of the blade where a series of four jewels are embedded into the blade. It then continues on smoothly to the tip of the sword. The blade’s power source is easy to spot, the four jewels embedded into the middle. These jewels are surrounded by a basic marking which is cut through by a engraving in the blade that is a straight line down the middle. This allows for the sword to be better balanced.

Abilities ;;

The strength of the sword allows for a variety of small and yet powerful abilities to be enabled by the card holder. The main source of power are four jewels embedded into the blade and each jewel represents a specific ability all of which have something to do with the elements. The first jewel represents fire and heat. During battle when this ability is enabled the sword will burst into flame. But also the sword will protect its user should he/she ever encounter intense heat conditions. The second jewel represents water. In battle this ability only comes into use by the sword wielder because it enables the user to breath under water with issue. The third jewel represents nature and all that is green. In battle the sword will emit long threatening vines that can be used to wrap around an opponent. These vines have poisonous thorns so be careful not to p***k your finger. The fourth and final jewel taps in to its evil side. The sword can be used to emit a black fog during any time of day, battle or not.

Attacks ;;

Vine Redimio [Vine Bind] ;; This attack enables the sword wielder to tap into the nature element and for the blade to emit a twisted mass of deadly vines. The wielder then directs these vines towards an opponent or object. The vines will then pursue the object until they have tightly woven themselves around it. These vines are controlled and directed by the thoughts of the user but the sword must be in hand for the attack to be accomplished. The vines differ in size and thickness and when wanted can be covered in poisonous thorns. The downfall of this attack is the massive amount of energy and concentration needed to direct the vines.

Incendia sursum [Fire-Up!] ;; This attack enables the sword wielder to tap into the fire element. During battle when the correct words are spoken or thought the blade with burst into intense flame. The downfall of this attack is the concentration aspect. If you do not focus on your opponent and the thought of keeping the blade lit the flames will diminish.

Dies est Nox noctis [Day is Night] ;; This attack enables the sword wielder to cast a black fog into an area. It seemingly spews out from the blade and can turn even the brightest of days into the dark of night.

Piscis piscis es Amicitia [Fish are Friends] ;; This attack enables the sword wielder to safely breath under water. The sword must be close to the wielder, if anything in hand or in its sheath. If the sword is knocked away from the wielder then the ability will no longer continue.

                          It seemed like an eon ago that I had shown up for that interview. I was doing everything like I wanted to when it came to a regular day. I had done my laundry. I had rehearsed a new song for a couple of hours. Now as evening approached I was down at the local grocery store collecting a few things for a glutton free dinner with my sister. I looked down at the racks of magazines finally seeing what I had been waiting for. My name, and also my former name, plastered in bright yellow italics across the cover of a teen magazine. Seventeen magazine to be more precise. I plucked it from the rack and set it on top of my glutton free foods and paid. Even though the young cashier gave me a foul look I walked out the door with my first interview in months hidden away. I towed the environmentally friendly bags I took with me everywhere and settled them into the back of the jeep. I drove home with thoughts of family and friends. I was excited to spend the night with my sister Reese as we didn't spend near enough time together. Sure enough by the time I pulled into the driveway the thoughts of 'Thor Root Beer' were at the back of my mind.

                          But things wouldn’t stay that way, quite sadly. As I was helped in putting everything away my sister pulled the magazine from the bottom of the last bag. She held it in front of her face with a clueless expression pasted over her regular smile. When she asked me what it was I hesitated in telling the truth. But when it comes to my sister I cannot hold back, ever. Eventually after our quiet meal and conversations (in which the magazine continued to come up) we sat down on the couch to read just what the friendly journalist had written. I was scared to reveal what had been planned for the past few weeks. My sister hadn't been as close to me as she is now when I had been that young. But she read enthusiastically as I looked over her shoulder and scanned the lines of writing next to a photo of myself laughing in a brown sweater. Somehow they had managed to find a headshot from when I was still with the group and named after a common beverage. My had things changed.

                          The world no longer has to wait for its acoustic legends to reappear. Half a million screaming fans in the United States alone tell me that the young man who sits before me is no small star. Although his music is not the biggest thing in pop culture, his smooth milky voice warms the hearts of many. There is a great story behind this young man. For Thor Hampton it all started at the ripe age of six. Life growing up in rural New York left him on a farm listening to his parents as they rambled on in French. However they supported him for Thor had dreams that expanded past the front archway that marked the entrance to the family’s farm. After singing for nearly his entire elementary and primary school life and playing mellow tunes on his guitar Thor took a small road trip with his mom when he was thirteen. Their ‘small road trip’ eventually lead them to urban New York where Thor caught his big break, sodaPOP. His start within this group of singing wonders gave him a kick start at a music career which has expanded ever so greatly over nearly a decade. I had the chance to meet up with Thor this week where he openly discussed his career and the life changing impact that music has made on him.

                          17: What was it like to be thirteen and auditioning for a junior pop group? Were you afraid at all, nervous even?
                          Thor Hampton: I can still remember when my mom and I saw the billboards set up outside of an old concert hall. I told her that I had to try out, for the sake of my love of music. I leaned across and even started to grab the steering wheel to show her how much I wanted to try. When it came to me as a young teenager I was so naïve when it came to getting my big break. When my mom finally found a parking spot we stood in line for two hours to get registered. All around me were this kids who had been made up by their parents. I had nothing but the clothes on my back and the support of my mom. After we were registered I had to wait again and when I was called to audition I had found my nerves. It was nerve wracking and mostly because my mom had to wait outside for me. I went in and sang part of a song by The Backstreet Boys. A week later when we were home we got the call.

                          17: Did you expect for sodaPOP to become as big as it did?
                          TH: I went into the auditions not knowing what to expect. I think that when everyone is young you secretly wish to be the next big idol when it comes to the music industry. For the first few months we got to know each other and then we sang dozens of songs over and over. I was just happy to be there and trying something so new to me.

                          17: So after spending so many years with the group what was it like to have everyone break up?
                          TH: That’s such a hard question to respond to. The first thing that I can say is that I wasn’t angry about it at all. As I grew older I started to hear my voice mature and eventually I figured that I wouldn’t fit into the pop scene so much anymore. When the group broke up I kept in touch with as many people as I could. Then I went back to New York and set up shop in the classroom. My family wanted me to have a high school diploma under my belt so I set out to accomplish that before continuing on with music. I was only thirteen at the time and I really just felt like taking some time off of the stage. I continued music in school but I kept to myself. I was in no big rush to get back onto that scene.

                          17: After sodaPOP what did you have to do to get back into the music industry?
                          TH: I can say that I was never really the struggling artist. Between my course work I was singing and writing songs. I experimented with my voice and the style of music before settling on a set of eight songs. I burned them to a disk and the next day I went in search of people who wanted to hear what I had to offer. But even then I had a lot of work ahead of me. At one point I even gave up and decided that music wasn’t for me. Thank goodness for my mother though. She told me otherwise.

                          17: That’s awesome! Nothing like motherly love! So what came next?
                          TH: Graduation and a big sigh of relief. I now had school out of the way and with that I also had a bilingual certificate. My family is from France so I wanted to know how to speak French. That was accomplished when I went back to school. And I had taken up the guitar again. I loved playing it when I was younger and I had missed it during my sodaPOP days. Now I can play very well and I love using it in my music.

                          17: Can you say something in French for me?
                          TH: J’aimerai chanter avec mes amies dans les semaines prochaines. I would love to sing with my friends in the next few weeks.

                          17: Does this mean what I think it does?
                          TH: I have a feeling that you caught on to my surprise. SodaPOP is expected to make it's comeback to this stage later this year. I received the call last week and was ecstatic to hear from some of the people that I haven’t spoken to in awhile. It’s nice to have change in your life every once and awhile. I can easily say that this is a change that I am prepared for. I have been singing acoustically for a few years, and although I love it, I am ready to try something new. Even though, if you think hard enough, this isn’t really new to me. I've always been Root Beer at heart.

                          17: That’s really exciting. Something really to look forward to. What are the plans so far?
                          TH:I can’t really reveal that now can I? It would spoil the fun of it all. ●

                          It’s like nothing I’ve ever felt
                          It’s like nothing I’ve ever known
                          The feeling of a hand in my own
                          Makes my heart flutter so

                          I look out to the waters
                          That surrounds us like a border
                          I turn to meet your gaze
                          And I no longer have to wonder

                          Cause on this ship everyone is happy
