You ever go to a SuperMarket or local Food Store, and by the cash register they have those little donation cans with pictures of a starving dog, or an abused child? Do you ever just go to lift one up and see how much money is actually in there? I have, and you know, 99% of the time, the starving dog has more change than the abused child. Says a lot about society, doesn't it? Here you have a human being asked to donate his or her money to 1 of 2 charities. One has to do with fellow humans, the other has to do with an entirely different species, that is in no way human. And every time, the dog wins out. Why is this? "Well, dog is man's bestfriend". Well that's a bit depressing isn't it? I mean, Is this the best man can do? A dog? Nevermind the wife and kids, or even the fellow man. "Sorry, you all SUCK! The dog is a better friend than any one of you could possibly be. And that's why the starving dog gets my quarter over the battered child praying for a good home"
It's interesting, Humanity will shed it's own species to save another. Which is either incredibly noble, or severely stupid, I go with STUPID! And on that note, of being stupid, you ever noticed that when you're watching some sort of movie, and all the people are getting blown up, chopped, killed, shot, stabbed, raped, or just plain ritualistically tortured for 2 hours, you always seem to want more. Doesn't matter how gross, how deprave, or how disgusting, people want to see other people getting killed, or at the very least severely hurt. Proof of that is in the ticket and Dvd sales of those Saw and Jackass movies. Seriously, you replace the people of those films with puppies, I guarantee you, there will be a protest in every theater that showed the film. But people? oh that's fun.
And you ever watched one of those movies where the beloved family dog that saves the day, gets hit by a car and dies? What happens? Not a dry eye in the house. Everybody's whining and crying and saying "Man what a great dog. Poor Dog waaaah". See this is the problem. There are people who are more broken up, when their dog dies than when a family member does. It's insane. It's like:
"I hear your brother bob passed away, sorry to hear that"
"Yeah well he was in a bad way, and when your number's up, you gotta go"
"Oh and I also heard your dog got hit by a car too"
"Yeah i can't talk about that, it's too soon, too soon"
"um it was like 3 months ago"
"I'm still not over it man"
Then they get all reminiscing about how they use to trip over their chew toys every morning, it's insane people, just insane. How come no one has this kind of consideration for people, you see one on the side of the road and you rather run 'em over. Funny huh? Funny? I hope your dog dies.
