"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." - Albert Einstein
1:40 AM EDT, Saturday night, 7/21/07

We all have a purpose in this world. Some of us know what it is early on in our lives, while others will never find it until they lie on their deathbeds.

I already know my purpose. To design a new frontier of processors/video cards for AMD/nVidia, and to be a raging Thrash Metal rhythm guitarist. These are the two things that I am second-nature with. I think computers, and breathe music. I hear music, I feel music, I see computers, and I think computers. This combination is what makes me different from the other geeks that will try to compete with me in my major of Computer Engineering. What they lack is what I have: A foundation of determination.

I am determined to be the best that I can be, and to let no one at ALL undermine my progress towards this goal. My parents will not affect me, my family will not affect me, no one in this world will undermine me or bring me down with this extreme determination.

Where did I get this determination?

7/19/2007 is a day that I will never forget. It is the day that I saw the true colors of my dad, whom I thought was once one of my best buddies.

His actions proved him wrong.

On July 19th, after a year of waiting and emancipation from the addiction-causing tyrant, World of WarCraft, I finally received my key to the door to begin the determination: My Ibanez RG321MHGN, via eBay. $213 in total, $175 for the axe, $38 for FedEx insured shipping. All my own money.

Mahogany body, thin-as-a-razor Wizard II maple neck, INF3 and INF4 dual humbuckers, 24 frets, and a gray nickel finish. The Thrasher's dream on a budget.

However, what may seem like nothing to a grizzled veteran guitarist was apparently collateral damage to my dad.

There was a paint chip half of the size of your pinky on the bottom right binding part of the body. Nothing major.

My dad went absolutely nuts and took this extremely out of proportion. He called it "damage while being shipped", and proceeded to e-mail the seller, ignoring my statements of saying that it's not a big deal.

WHO ******** DIED AND MADE YOU KING TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY PURCHASES?!

That was strike one.

After my dad e-mailed the seller, he proceeded to come to my room, sit down on the bed, and demanded me to play something.

ATTENTION IGNORANT DUMBASS: YOU ARE REQUESTING A MUSICIAN TO PLAY A SONG WITHOUT WARMING UP, ESPECIALLY AFTER NOT PLAYING IN THREE WEEKS.

So, I decided to do so, and started to sloppily play the intro to "Washington Is Next!" by Megadeth.

His response made me want to punch him square in the face without hesitating.

"What in the world is that? That sounds terrible."

Guess what dickwad, Dave Mustaine and Glen Drover will be better guitarists and musicians than you ever will, so I suggest you shut the ******** up before a more radical Metalhead finds you.

I asked him what he would rather hear me play. And I expected it to be something from The Beatles.

I was right, he requested "Yesterday" by The Beatles.

That was strike two.

I downloaded the powertab, looked it over, and began to crappily sight read.

YOU ARE ASKING A THRASH METAL GUITARIST TO PLAY CLASSIC ROCK. NOT GOING TO SOUND PRETTY, ESPECIALLY IF HE'S FORCED TO!!!

Finally, I grew some balls and verbally threw him out of my room, where I started warming up properly and playing random parts from my favorite Thrash songs, such as "A.I.R." by Anthrax, "Master of Puppets" by Metallica, and "Skeletons in the Closet" by Anthrax.

It didn't sound right without an amp. Obviously.

I was using a ghetto setup. I had a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter that I still have when I used to have my DKMGT/Cube 30. I used it for the headphone jack.

I never get rid of anything hobby wise unless it's threatening to my mental stability, which World of WarCraft was. I took no hesitations of getting rid of everything I had related to it.

After a few hours of playing on and off, with the axe still in my lap, dinner was served.

That's when he told me the news that I now hate him the most for:

The seller filed a damage claim with FedEx. They were coming by to pickup the axe tommorow (In context of 7/19/07), to inspect it, which was yesterday in the time that I am writing this.

If the little jackass would've listened to me, he would never have the eternal hatred from his SON. And when your SON hates you, there has to be something wrong with you!

After dinner, and an hour of solid playing, my dad called me to his bedroom.

He started to feed me bullshit after bullshit.

He told me that this wasn't the only axe in the world, (Correction: Yes it is. Knowledgeable guitarists know that all wood grows differently unless cut from the same tree, therefore all guitars are unique.) and to look on Craigslist.

CRAIGSLIST IS THE WORST POSSIBLE PLACE TO BUY s**t!

And of course, being on his high and almighty throne, he pointed replacements to my RG, which were s**t. All of them.

TO ALL OF YOU NON-MUSICIANS READING THIS, CHEAP =/= GOOD.(Usually, you would know from other musicians if a cheap axe is good) IT'S CHEAP FOR A ******** REASON. CHEAP MODELS CONSIST OF LOW-QUALITY WOOD, PICKUPS, THE WHOLE NINE YARDS. WHY DO YOU THINK AMERICAN FENDERS SELL SO MUCH AND ARE WANTED BY SO MANY!?

That was strike three. What's ironic, is that baseball is his favorite sport, and he is OUT of this inning. This inning being in my "respected persons" list.

Here I am, back at square one, WAITING. Technically, I've been waiting FOUR YEARS to get this moment, to strike back at my parents. My parents have been treating me as a guinea pig, the person to throw all of the stupidest tasks at, just because "He's not doing anything."

For ********' sake, I do more than everyone in this house put together. On an average day, I'm in C&T, LI, 2 other forums, changing some code in my GRAW2 PC mod, providing MORE tech support, and having to deal with the idiots on online games. My plate is already full, I don't need your ******** tray.

These stupidest tasks ARE stupid: Rewire something that is ALREADY working, put up some stupid s**t that my dad will forget about, and above all, YARDWORK!! (Down here in Miami, you find more Mexicans then a smart white person)

Therefore, my dad, who was once the most influential figure of my life, has been wiped from my respect list.

If some of you are aware of the Myers-Briggs 16 personality types, I am an INTJ. INTJ respect must be EARNED. Either through their knowledge or actions towards people. INTJ respect IS NOT EARNED THROUGH HOLDING A PLACE OF AUTHORITY, "HOLIER THAN THOU" ATTITUDES, ELITISM, IGNORANCE, OR PLAGIARISM.

From what I have gathered, I am the smartest person in this entire family. Entire family being uncles, aunts, cousins, etc.

Another trait of INTJs: TRADITIONS ARE DEAD. WE LOOK TOWARDS TO THE FUTURE, BELIEVE IN THEORIES, ARE RULED BY OUR HEAD, PLACE MORE VALUE IN INTELLIGENCE THAN LIFE EXPERIENCE, AND WE HATE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!
