Of Stabilizing the Wounded, and Getting Bearings
Taran and Stabilizing the Wounded

Taran nodded when Xangord relayed- incredibly briefly so- what had happened to her. Not enough, of course, to help him help her. But that was fine; he'd already looked her over and seen that the three punctures were her biggest noticable injuries. Not bothering to warn her, he put pressure on the wounds to stop the bleeding. Hearing Xangord ask what was wrong with n**, he shook his head.

"Not too much. Doesn't feel well, I suppose. She's not the one I'm worried about right now." Taran told her. He was about to ask her more specifics on what injuries she recalled receiving, when n**'s voice came over the intercom. He hated when she flew, this was not the best situation at all.

"Okay. We'll be back on the Nerissa Altsoba in no time, Xangord. Then we shall have you fixed up well. Think you can hang on until then?" He didn't really wait for an answer; he could tell she was slipping into unconsciousness already. He kept pressure on her wounds, and made sure the gurney would be able to roll as soon as they were docked.

He didn't dare try his only healing ability on her. Not here, not now, and not with her having lost so much blood. Instead, he used an archaic spell used to bring strength to dragons. It sounded like it was in elvish, or some other high language. In fact, it was an old Dragoon spell. He only hoped it helped her hold on.

Rose: Getting Bearings

"Wait, what?" Rose said.

Having just dropped her sound barrier a moment ago, she only caught the tail end of the conversation. She had to rethink about what she had just heard. The first thing she heard was Holly telling Wynn, in a "you didn't ask the right question" kind of way that different was not necessarily the same as wrong. And then Wynn had said something about someone being pregnant and about to fight Renstock. It didn't hit Rose who the heck they were talking about until Wynn turned to her and told her not to tell since she was her aunt. She was only Aunt to one person.

"Shalimar? Shalimar is pregnant?" Rose said, bewildered. "But how? When?" the comment about having to fight Renstok soon and also trying not to tell Dragon caught up with her and hit her like a cement block.

Looking at Wynn with one of those "you've got to be kidding me" looks, she said simply, "You really think we can hide that from Dragon? Even if Shal doesn't know? Dragon figures out almost everything." Rose paused. What if Shal knew, or even suspected? "Um... Where is Shal right about now?" Rose looked worried. If she was with Dragon there was a good chance.... They needed to keep those two apart somehow.

Ushering Nari close to her, Rose had one more thing to say to the pixie. "Look, you need to promise to obey me and follow my orders always, unless I tell you differently or unless there is a danger to my life. Promise, or you go home now."

The pixie lit herself brighter, and said clearly, in a formal tone, "This will be my oath, my fairy." She smiled, though it was hard to see.

"Great. Don't tell Dragon or Shal what you've heard here." Rose said, and turned back to the others. She didn't want the pixie eaten by Wynn, but couldn't abide the pixie screwing things up.
