Of Healing a Fallen Dragon
Healing Xangord; Taran and Rose
Taran's point of view

Taran was only a little relieved when Xangord responded that she would try to stay conscious. When she spoke out next, she only said two words, and said it as a question. He closed his eyes for a moment. He hoped that the two dragon gods she seemed to have seen were really there, and it was not an apparition seen by a dying dragon. He would not let a dragon die in his care. He would NOT.

As soon as the Dragonfly landed in the docking bay of the Altsoba, Taran started rolling the gurney out of the medical room and toward the exit ramp. "Good landing, n**!" he called out- not sure if she would hear him or not. He steered Xangord and pushed the gurney along with his right hand, keeping pressure on her wounds with his left. He spun around, once in the Dragonfly's bay, and hit the ramp button with his free hand. Once it was down, he rolled her out at almost a full run. Knowing that Nerissa could hear him, he spoke as he ran.

"Nerissa! Tell Rose I'm going to need her healing abilities as soon as we get to the med deck. Tell Dragon that Xangord's lost a lot of blood, and shouldn't be bothered."

Only a moment later, Taran pushed the gurney into Med Bay 813 and almost into a few people that were still there.

Looking up to Rose, his eyes asked more questions than he spoke. "Ready?" was all he asked. His eyes asked if she was able to do this, if she undrestood how important Xangord was, and if she could really be all that he believed she was. Was she really part angel, and would that transfer into a holy touch and more luck in every good thing she did? It had better be.

Rose's point of view, from where the last left off

Taran rolled Xangord in and Rose was surprised. Xangord looked so incredibly pale. And was only barely conscious. But she had faith. Dragons were tougher than that, she knew. The look Taran shot her, though, took her aback. He was very concerned. And... worried about something else? She started shaking her head, to ignore whatever it was he was conveying, and she realized he had just asked if she was ready, and she was shaking her head no. She changed it into a nod, and rolled her eyes at herself. Sometimes she was the most scatterbrained... whatever. she thought. She took about half a second, and centered her thoughts.

"Okay, move your hands." Rose told Taran. She knew, with the coloration of Xangord, that as soon as Taran moved his hands, she would be losing more blood that she couldn't afford to. If Rose didn't move fast, Xangord would die from- of all things- blood loss.

Taran moved his hands and Rose quickly peeped at the three wounds before placing her hands firmly over the holes, applying pressure. Healing could be done without applying pressure, but it took a few minutes. In a few minutes, she could bleed to death if they allowed her to.

Rose closed her eyes and delved her magic into the wounds. Dragon body composition was quite unique, and though they had more organs and bones and everything that the average human body, the organs were, on average, a lot tougher and harder to pierce. Whatever had impaled Xangord had only managed to impale one organ. To heal a dragon was a major task indeed. Mostly because magic to a dragon was like water to a fish. It was all over, and almost in the way, and soaked right into every crevace. It was hard to control.

Rose spent the next ten minutes perfectly still as she focused on Healing Xangord.

When she was done, Rose finally blinked, and took her hand off Xangord. Rose smiled softly. Xangord had been healed quite completely.

"She's going to need lots of fluids over the next few days." Rose said, her voice the only shaky thing about her- the only noticable sign of the huge amount of strength Rose had used up. Rose backed away a few steps, and casually turned to the sink. She washed her hands of the blood from Xangord. She dried them, and then leaned against a cabinet, with that same satisfied smile.
