War
A crash shattered the silence,
Debris splintered the night,
Sparks fell to the ground,
And the flames stretched into the sky.
Thunder roared,
Red light seared the darkness,
Shots rang out,
Battle had begun.
Air full of gunpowder,
Smoke,
Soldiers crying their last breath,
And bloody tears,
Swept across a bleak landscape.
The sun rose crimson,
Over the fields of cadavers,
Forgotten machinery,
And lost life,
Flowers, scarlet and white, grow there now,
In remembrance;
War.
