THE DREAM
THE DREAM
"So where are we going now?" asked Crystal keeping a close eye on Rain who was walking beside Pearl. "Uh..." Shadow paused. "You have no idea, do you?" said Crystal, "...nope" said Shadow. "But what I do know is that we should find our next camp spot, its already evening, so Rain, do you know your way around here?" asked Shadow. "Ya, I know where there is a clearing we could go to." said Rain moving in front of Shadow, "so just follow me." It was almost dark when they arrived at the clearing. At the center of it was a small spring and lots of blue flowers around it. Up above, the sky was clear and there was a full moon. "Here we are girls" said Rain, "though lets camp at the fringe." So they moved to the fringe and made a small pit for a fire. Pearl and Rain went off to get some wood for the fire while Shadow and Crystal stayed. When Pearl and Rain got back with the wood, Shadow used two flint rocks she found to start a fire. They talked a while around the camp fire, but then they started to get tired so they layed down and fell asleep. Except Shadow, she decided to wander around the clearing for a while. Shadow walked around the spring for a while looking at the peaceful surroundings. Then sleep started to come to her, so she layed down and drifted off to sleep. Shadow was dreaming of being in the same clearing looking up at the full moon. But when she looked at the spring there she saw a dragon!
Shadow stood up and looked at the dragon, it was a black dragon with a blue tail and blue legs and it had deep blue eyes that shined in the moonlight. It walked over to Shadow slowly. Shadow just stood there looking at this dragon in amazment. Then the dragon stopped a few inches away from her. The dragon pointed at the moon in the sky. When Shadow looked at the moon and then back at the dragon, the dragon was no longer there. She walked towards the spring and looked into the cool, still water. Instead of seeing her as herself, she saw herself as the dragon! Then Shadow woke up, "that was a weird dream," she thought. The she walked over to the spring and looked down into it. This time she saw her own reflection. Shadow felt a bit shaken from the dream though. She thought about it for awhile then just thought it was a dream and nothing more. Her hands prickled a bit, so she held up her hand to see what it was. She noticed they now looked like the hands of the dragon she saw in her dream! Shadow panicked wondering what was happening. Then suddunly she saw Silver standing at the opposite end of the spring. Shadow quickly hid her hands behind her back. "What are you doing here!?" she yelled at Silver. "Well, when I woke up and no one was around I looked for you guys and figured Rain would bring you here," said Silver. "So what are you trying to hide there Shadow?" asked Silver. "Uh... n-nothing" Shadow stammered, "just go away and leave me alone!"
Silver looked at her confused and then walked around the spring over to her. Shadow kept her hands behind her back hoping Silver wouldn't see them. Then Silver suddenly grabbed Shadow's arm to see one of her dragon hands. Silver gasped, "so your a dragon?" "no I'm not! just leave me alone!" Shadow shouted as she pushed Silver into the spring and ran into the forest. When Silver got out of the spring he chased after her. Shadow was in sight but then suddenly disapeared into the dark night. Silver stopped and looked around, then he started walking towards the spot where Shadow disapeared. Up in a tree above the spot where Silver now was, was Shadow. "Wait, why am i running from him?" Shadow thought. She moved a little into a more comfortable position, when a twig snapped under her hand. The twig fell and hit Silver on the head, he looked up and saw Shadow.
Silver climbed up the tree to Shadow. Shadow decided she was too tired to keep running so she just stayed. "Why are you following me?" asked Shadow in an angry tone. "Don't you want to know why your hands are the way they are?" asked Silver. "Ya, but... how do you know why they're like this?" asked Shadow in a more calm voice. "Because, I'm a half dragon too," he said. "What do you mean by your a half dragon too," she asked now confused. "Your a half dragon Shadow," said Silver, "a wha? what the heck is a half dragon?" asked Shadow even more confused. "A half dragon is kinda self explanitory, your half dragon and half human. So basicly you can transform into a dragon and then back into human," said Silver. "Uh.... well can you tell me why now I'd be 'transforming' when this has never happened to me before?" asked Shadow. "Well, that will be a bit harder to explain... but pretty much a half dragon, at a certain age and time will transform, usually around the age of 13 or 14, when exactly they transform is at a random time during that year, but mostly happens under a full moon, always at night though" explained Silver. "... ok..." said Shadow a bit overwhelmed with everything she just heard. She looked back down at her hands, they still looked like a dragon's. But now the scales where starting to go up her arm.
She felt her body becoming scaley and felt wings sprout from her back. She was so surprised that she lost balance on the branch she was sitting on and fell. Shadow hit her head on a branch before she hit the ground. Silver climbed down to see if she was ok, but Shadow was knocked out cold. She started transforming back into her human form too. The sun started rising and Silver carried her back to the clearing. He layed her by the spring and splashed some water on her face. Shadow slowly started to become concious. She sat up and looked at Silver who was sitting beside her. "Did you carry me here?" she asked, "ya," said Silver. "Thanks," said Shadow giving him a small smile, and he smiled back. Shadow then splashed her face with some more water to wake her up more, then her and Silver walked over to their friends who were still asleep. (to be continued...)
