Well Ive had Halo 3 since the day it came out, and Ive beaten it on normal and heroic. So what does the Hive think?
We think there is a god.
Bungie actually listened, and fixed a lot of problems. Changes to weapons, difficulty, and some online features fix some annoying problems. For instance you can mute people in the middle of an online game. Normally you'd have to go through a long menu and it sucked, this is really quick, and deals with annoying people quickly. The assault rifles return makes me happy, and it seems much more powerful, and the magnum (While not back to its uber form, thank god) is much improved from the last game.
The new weapons, equipment, and vehicles really do add a lot more depth to the game. I could see spikers, maulers, and the gravity hammer all being used in ranked online play (Maybe not so many will plasma pistol) The vehicles are amazing. The hornet is a great alternative to the banshee, the chopper is just BADASS (The uber of anti-light vehicles) and the prowler is useful when assaulting or going for an enemy flag. Don't even get me started on the mongoose. Its just amazing. They even balanced the tank by making it so one drives/controls the cannon, and the other controls the machine gun.
The video viewer is beautiful. I love going back and watching myself kick a** in campaign (WISH I HAD LIVE) The customizable armor is pretty nice. I'm expecting to see maybe more armor/emblems through Xbox Live. It seems logical that they'd make something like that, people will go nuts for it. The Forge is deep, I LOVE it. I'm making my own version of High Ground right now. The controls take a bit to get used to, but once down its really awesome. I like putting my music on when I work. It'd be freakin crazy with other people in there with you, so again, I cant wait for Live.
As for the story, I like it WAY more than 2. I would've liked seeing more Arbiter seeing as he's my hero, but he was pretty bad a** through the game. And I think this game finally gave Master Chief some personality. He talked more, and the musical score helped a lot. I thought the theme song would get overplayed but I think they did it right.
And you gotta admit its a cool theme song when your riding into battle.
The ending made me sad, even after the credits. Hes out there lost in space after saving all humanity...
But hes not even mad. Id give this game a 7 or 8 for single player, and a solid 10 for multi with all it has to offer.
And Finally I can say I'm a fan of the Master Chief. I salute you Spartan 117, wherever you are.
