...TIME FOR ANOTHER STORY WRITTEN BY ME!!!

THE BASKETBALL CARDS

One day, during fifth grade, my sister was cleaning her room and found a stack of about 70 basketball cards. She wanted to get rid of them, and in result, she gave them to me. I looked through the cards with occasional Oo’s and Ah’s, and when I was done looking through them, I stowed them away in a tin can, which I put into a random drawer.
A couple years later, in the second semester of the seventh grade, I had just finished my lunch and was heading to the library. When I was walking through the lobby, I saw some guys playing Yu-Gi-Oh. I thought of how it was weird that there is a game like that. But the thought slid out of my mind and I kept walking.
But after I took a couple steps, I heard one of the guys babbling excitedly. So I started to listen: “Hey guys! Guess what?” One guy said as he was jumping up and down frantically. But the other guys around him just sighed and went back to their game. Looking determined, he kept going. Pointing to the left side of the lobby, “I tried to put a card into that milk machine over there.” The other guys looked up from their game and stared at him, their eyes gleaming with curiosity.
“…and guess what? The machine thought I put actual money into it!” The other guys’ eyes widened with surprise and started urging him to tell them what happened next. I didn’t hear the rest of what he said because my head was spinning with ideas. I needed time to think so I quickened my pace to the library.
Once I entered the library, I hurried to a table and stared blankly at a wall while thinking of which cards I should use for the trick with the milk vending machine. What first popped into my head were my playing cards. But then I thought of how much I would use them later. Then, after a couple minutes of thinking, a thought leaked into my head. The basketball cards! I made a mental note to find the cards, put them into my backpack, and bring them to school.
A couple weeks later, I finally remembered to get the basketball cards. So I searched and searched through my room to find them. After I thought I searched through every nook and cranny of my room, I thought of that tin can. So I searched my mind to find where that tin can was. Then, I finally remembered where it was after a couple minutes of thinking. I went to a drawer and rummaged through the junk in there, but then I found it, right where I left it 2 years ago. I opened the can, took out the cards, and shoved them into the corner pocket of my backpack.
When I was at school, I tried to stay in the lobby as long as possible after the bell rang to go to class. But every single time I was in the lobby, at least one person was in there.
But then luck shined on me one day. The lobby was clear when I walked out of the library a couple minutes after the bell rang for lunch to end. I slowly walked to the milk vending machine, looking over my shoulder every time I thought I heard someone.
Once I got to the machine, I slowly dropped my backpack to fish out one of the basketball cards out of the corner pocket. I checked to see if anyone was in the lobby, but nobody was there. Then I delicately slid the card into the dollar bill slot. The machine started humming like it was working. Then all of a sudden the milk vending machine started to make a loud buzzing noise. I quickly threw on my backpack and started pacing back and forth, nervously peering behind me, waiting for the noise to stop.
After 5 nerve-racking seconds, the vending machine stopped buzzing and spat out the basketball card. I quickly snatched up the card, jammed it into my pocket, and dashed off to my next class, hoping that nobody saw me.
