Love is over-rated.
The future appears bright,
And suddenly the past seems to have faded.
They have traveled a long tunnel and finally reached the light.
And if only for a moment everything is as it should be…
Until one day their lover leaves,
And leaves them hurt and scared
Their life turns upside down as they vow to never love again

I wrote the above poem a while ago, before I understood the beauty and wonder of love. But I will still stand by it, as it is my vow to always stand by everything I have written and will write! ^_^
The Door
So cold and smooth are you
I run my fingers first with the grain
Then against it
You keep the world away from me
And me away from the world
And yet with the twist of a knob we are one
Do I dare twist?
Or shall I just stay hidden from the world behind you?
You stare at me as if to mock my very existence
You only hold me back
So intimidating are you
So tall
So silent
I cannot break free
But I must learn too
I suffocate in this room so small
So confined
Four walls and a bed make up the entirety of my world
And this I cannot stand for any longer!
I do dare!
I will twist!
Perhaps behind this cold and uncaring exterior there is compassion!
There is love!
Surely there must be!
My hand reaches for the warmth and caring of the knob,
So inviting is it!
So excited am I!
At long last my hand and the knob meet!
I twist, so ready to be set free from your prison!
But alas! Your knob does not move!
I die a little inside as I return to my bed.
Perhaps I shall try again in the morrow.
