Well, this is my first journal entry, both here at gaia and ever really. since i dont really know what to say i'll just talk about the things that interest me i guess. the two different sig images i have represent scores for two different games. There a way for me to keep track of my progress and to match myself against other players out there.
The colorful one is for a game called Pop'n Music, perhaps the coolest music game ever. the idea is that there are nine colored hand-sized buttons, and colored "pop-kuns" will fall down the screen and you have to hit each corresponding button when they reach a hot spot to fill in the gaps of a song. Each pop-kun will make a different sound that in some way completes the song. What make this game so cool and fun is both the interesting gameplay and the incredibly diverse array of songs to choose from. Pop'n Music most certainly doesn't not pigeon hole itself into any one genre or style of music, covering almost any genre imaginable. presently there are 11 home releases available for the PS1 and PS2, 1-6 being for PS1 and 7-10 being on the PS2. there is also a best hits collection available for the PS2. Pop'n Music 11 will be released July 21st and you can bet i'll be buying that. On the graph, the purple bar represents all the perfect scores I have gotten on different songs, I'd say i'm pretty proud of that.
The other image keeps track of my scores from a game called Beatmania IIDX. IIDX is more of a DJ simulation game than anything else. The controller consists of 7 buttons arranged sort of like a small section of a keyboard and a turntable. Similar to Pop'n Music, notes fall from the top of the screen and you have to hit them once they reach a hot spot to complete the song. IIDX is more centered around a techno genre however, its very industrial and hardcore. I prefer the freindly atmosphere of Pop'n Music to IIDX any day. IIDX is still really fun though. Regarding my scores, a AAA is the highest ranking you can get for a song (though unlike a 100K in Pop'n it can cover a much large range of scores) followed by AA and A. There are 7 home releases of IIDX all for PS2, 3rd through 9th style. the 1st and 2nd were not released for home but its just as well there barely had any songs then anyway.
So thats a small explanation at least of what my sigs mean. now go mod your ps2 and try these games. sweatdrop
