My Zone Hey, I'm Andi. I'm just going to use this to express my feelings about whatever I happen to fancy at the moment and each entry shall be unique. And totally unrelated to my last entry.

I am so obsessed with Sweeney Todd. And a lot of people around me are too. We just have the same morbid interest in gory rated R movies.

My two friends whom I share many interests with were obsessed from the day they released the first trailer. And today, the day it came out, I saw another friend and my mom mentioned me wanting to see a movie, and my friend immediately exclaimed, "Sweeney Todd!" And I was like, "Yes!" And I talked to my cousin on the phone and she also wants to see it.

I also bought the Sweeney Todd book today. Just 'cause it was there, with Jonny Depp on the cover. It's not fiction. It's from a newspaper article that was published in the 1800s. The beginning is this really long introduction and crap, which I skipped, but I'll read after I finish the book. It has very complicated vocabulary, enough that I, being a rather experienced reader, even had to start over and keep a list of vocabulary with their meanings. But that's 'cause I'm just a little obsessed. It's very interesting so far. And so far, the movie has already gotten it wrong. And I haven't even seen the movie. But I shall forgive them because they casted Jonny Depp and made him sing.

I'm also listening to the audio on the official Sweeney Todd website (yeah, I said it before, obsessed), and Jonny Depp is a good singer. Unless they played around with the audio to make him sound better, but I'll just assume he's a decent singer. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.

Oh, and with the description of Sweeney Todd in the book, he's not supposed to be as handsome as Jonny Depp. Though I think they got the trademark hair right. "The barber himself was a long, low-jointed, ill-put-together sort of fellow, with an immense mouth, and such huge hands and feet, that he was, in his way, quite a natural curiosity, and, what was more wonderful, considering his trade, there never was seen such a head of hair as Sweeney Todd's. We know not what to compare it to: probably it came nearest to what one might suppose to be the appearance of a thickset hedge, in which a quantity of small wire had got entangled. In truth, it was a most terrific head of hair; and as Sweeney Todd kept all his combs in it - some said his scissors likewise - when he put his head out of the shop-door to see what sort of weather it was, he might have been mistaken for some Indian warrior with a very remarkable head-dress." It also goes on to describe his laugh, which is supposed to be rather sudden, short, and disturbing, and most people are so shocked by it, they don't suspect it came from him, looking around for the source of the noise.
He's also very abusive. Besides the whole dumping his customers down a chute into his basement and slitting their throats. But anyway, I haven't gotten that far in the story.

I'm really looking forward to the movie though. I didn't want to see it today, because I wanted to finish the book first, so I'm seeing it on Monday. Maybe with my cousins.

So anyway, I'll get back to Sweeney Todd.

Love you all heart
