The Journal of a Techrat
It's a journal, what do you expect? I'll be keeping updates on my programming Escapades here, as well as recent goings on at the Techrats PC Shop, located in Surrey B.C. Canada.
Dollarless Nickels - Chapter 3: Strange and Strangers
Entering the house, Zarin did his best to avoid his mother until he had the chance to feign an attempt at salvaging the flattened bread, and shoved it in the fridge before being noticed. Being careful not to allow the bottle to fizz over, he opened the Pebkac and poured himself a glass before heading up to his room.

The room was plain; a simple bed next to the window, a computer in the corner, a dresser against the wall and the clothes he wore to bed lying on the floor. It wasn't much, but it was functional.
Zarin sat at his desk, and was greeted by a disturbing number of messages waiting for him. After skimming over them, he closed them all, threw on some rock music and picked up his phone. He scanned through the numbers deciding who he should phone, then put it back on his desk.
He looked out his window to see a tall, thin girl standing outside his house, staring intently.
"ZARIN!" his mother shouted, "I THINK YOUR FRIEND IS WAITING FOR YOU!"
"Good god..." he muttered, chugging down his cola and walking outside.
"So you're stalking me now, are you?" he asked, approaching Angil.
"Nope. Just out for my daily walk'n'stare." she replied casually.
"You're... not all there, are you?" he said, regretting it a moment later when he was kicked in the shin.
"ACK! You REALLY gotta stop that."
Kneeling down, he began to use the snow on the ground to sooth the injury.
"So what's your deal? What are you doing here?"
"I felt bad about kicking you in the shin earlier, so I came to apologize."
"Not only do I not understand that, I'm not sure I want to." he said, standing back up.
"So what now? Do I turn around to go back inside ignoring the fear that you'll kick me in the calf?"
"Careful now... Giving me those ideas isn't in your best interest. I'm going now. What you do is up to you."
With that, Angil turned away and started sloshing through the snow filled street. Unable to simply drop such a conversation, Zarin followed.
"You're so simple. It's as easy as baiting a fish hook, except I don't have to find the worms..."
"Ouch... My pride."
