It doen't matter even if you dont have stocks, you're still going to loose money (if your in the US anyways) because the value of the American dollar is going down, but people aren't getting paid more to compensate (doing so would cause the inflation issue to get even worse).
This really affects me because my dad and step-mom (my dad holds my health/denal insurance) work for our city and face loosing their jobs, They've both already suffered heavy pay cuts and a lot of other people in their positions have already lost jobs..for them its not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. If they loose their jobs, they will have to move into a smaller house, most likely out of my school district, which meanse I would have to leave behind all of my friends (which would be really hard for me because I am rather quiet and dont make friends easily). **sigh** Such is life I suppose. I only hope that if they do have to move, I can stay at my current school so I can start/finish my internship. (the program that I'm in that offers the internship is only available at my high school...in this city anyways...)
