Rob himself, turns out to be a traumatized latent Psi. He is a psychic mule; his talents are all fixated on and lead to his sister.
His much younger sister (by about 7 years) proves to be a telempath. (A combination of telepathy and empathy). She is the only thing keeping him sane… and she has been subconsciously using her power since they first manifest at 3 to try and ease his pain. Once they figure out what’s happened and what’s going on that pair goes into training, both to train their talents and make a start on healing the damage.
Eventually, Drea learns how to use her brother as an amplifier for her power and the pair work crowd control, where and when it’s needed.
Inspite of the help her brother never does heal to the point where he’s comfortable enough to live a ‘normal’ life. He stays with his sister and her lover (Donny) until the day he dies...though several Cell children used his stored seed to have children and these kids have proved stable, happy and healthy.
