Conviction is the key. Without conviction, nothing you do will sit right.

Reaper's Story
Despite the fanciful presumptions of many people, Elven society has its bottom rungs, and Hayden Sears spent the first sixteen years of her life there. She lived with her apathetic parents and two sisters (one older, one younger) in the middle of downtown Seattle. Hayden's life was terrible by anybody's standards, and what she wanted most was to escape and make a real (or at least better) life for herself. The first opportunity she got, she took, and joined the army. She had a natural aptitude for being sneaky and ended up as a sniper. For the next four years she more or less enjoyed herself, content to follow orders and eliminate targets as they were assigned to her. The army trained her well and equipped her with the cyberware to make her an effective killing machine. For all intents and purposes, Hayden had found a better life.

Everything went bad again for Hayden on her last mission as a member of the army. Her unit was assigned with others to contain a riot in the Seattle Sprawl, an exceptionally large one. For two hours Hayden moved from rooftop to rooftop taking shots at anybody who might be a problem for her companions down below. The call came in then that the officer in charge of the operation had turned up dead. According to the medics, the wound in his head matched the ammunition that Hayden's model of rifle used. She panicked and fled, wandering aimlessly in the Sprawl until she was hopelessly lost. Days later, half-starved and exhausted, she crumpled into a heap on the doorstep of a man named Sharky. Sharky, as it happened, was a Shadowrunner.

As a Shadowrunner
Reaper received her working name from Sharky, who once made the comparison between snipers and the Grim Reaper. Although she's fairly new to running (she would have more experience, but Sharky refused to let her run with him at first), she lives up to her name, striking from afar and out of sight. Her primary role on the team is to cover the others while they act up-close, but she is no slouch in tight quarters due to her army training and cyberware. She also commonly acts as getaway driver- there are few who can match her unaided city-driving skills, and she is an adept mechanic. She bought a garage with the money from her first few runs, and acquired her car and motorcycle after the fact (rumor has it she and Sharky stole the vehicles on their first run together).

Although she has quite a lot of gear, Reaper only takes what she needs on runs. Anything she's not sure about usually gets brought along as well, and the rest is left in the car or at home. When she can't sit back and take potshots, Reaper acts as a scout and door-opener, and acts as the team's cook between runs. If she's going to be in public or needs to be inconspicuous, Reaper usually wears her plated vest with Fichetti hidden beneath, but otherwise she prefers her camouflage suit, Ceska, and her favorite tool of all: her custom Remington 950.

There might be something going on between Reaper and Sharky, but the two will neither confirm nor deny it.
