You know, I've typed some things (mainly dislikes) about my grandmother. This isn't a dislike, only a disagreement.
At dinner the other night, I was telling my sister (who I havn't seen in weeks) about this guy who sort of asked me out, but I said no. As I finished my apparently intriguing story, (I don't understand why it's so funny) my grandma says, "no, you shouldn't say no. That's why guys don't ask girls out anymore,"
Well, I disagree. I refrained from saying so, but seriously. I'm not about to date someone I don't like just so the male moral will be stabalized for a few moments. That's not how I work. Besides, it's not girls like me who're making guys afraid to aks girls out, it's the feminist movement, for one, and just plain shyness.
Seriously, I feel bad for guys. You never know which girl is going to appreciate her dinner being paid for, or look at is as an act of belittlement. So no, I don't feel that girls who only date who they like, are causing this phenomena.
Then, she says, " (my name), you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince," um, yeah, I see several problems with this statement.
Like I mentioned, before, I don't date random people. I'm not going to date a bunch af guys just to find out what type I like. That would be unfair to men. Second, nowadays, doesn't that just sound slutty? This, being the grandmother who got me a thong for my 14th birthday. Oh, and she gave it to me in the middle of a resturaunt, tied to baloons, my family all around, with the accompanying statement, "oh, she's almost ready for that."
...
Obviously, I do not get my morals from her.
Second, she gave my the "frogs-prince" adivce, when she, on a REPEATED basis, says how unhappy she is with her life and husband! (this, being a big reason for my dislike) So, please, tell me, why should I follow this bitter old woman's advice?
These were just some thoughts running through my mind, as always.
PS: I just found out that definatly is actually spelt definitely. yeah, my life has been a lie.
