Short Stories
These are short stories that reflect who I am. Please enjoy...
How Ayanai came to be. . . .
She awakens to find herself in a dark room, she moves to rub the grit from her eyes but finds that she cannot move. She whips her head up and turns from side to side; the blackness is thick and choking, her eyes wouldn't adjust.
~ Hello? Hey!! Can anyone hear me?
Tears creep up as her voice echoed down what sounded like long corridors. Minutes seemed like hours. . .she pulled and strained at her bindings, but it was to no avail. She hung limp, giving up as her wrists dripped blood from her efforts. Suddenly a ring or torches light up, illuminating the room in a red haze. Her breath catches as she stares into faces of her family; strung up like pigs.
~ Mom, Dad, Asuki!!
She pulls harder on the chains, desperate to get to her family. She screams and shakes the chains wanting to awake them; no use. The tears are now flowing down her face, she cries their names and howls for help. In the distance voices are heard, her heart leaps with joy as she sees the silhouettes of the approaching people.
~ Can you help me? Get me out of these chains so i can get to my family!!
The silhouettes reach the chamber where she was being held, they split and made a circle around the girl and her family. They raised their hands and the sleeves fell to their elbows revealing bone and torn flesh. She screamed; not for her family but in sheer terror. One of the figures steps forward and removes his hood, she stares into the face of Hell. No words could describe what he looked like; she went pale and pulled back as He approached. One outstretched hand grasped her jaw firmly and roughly held her eye to eye with him. He turned his bony frame aside so that her eyes met her family, He pointed to the nearest Hood and snapped His fingers. Obediently, it pulled out of its folds a ritual knife etched with glowing runes; it walked over to her mother and, placing it under the head, cleanly cut the throat. Another hood placed a blue bowl under her mother and it soon filled with blood. The stench was overwhelming; by the time they had repeated the process with the rest of her family the tears dried up and her voice was now hoarse from crying. The room smelled of death and she knew that it wasn't just her family. The Hood who held her jaw released his hold and walked over to the Hood holding the bowl, He took it, raised it above his head and drank. She gagged and vomited, she was drenched in sweat and her heart seemed to throb outside the body. When He finished He handed the bowl back and took the ritual knife; walking towards her He grunted and two Hoods held her head back and forced her mouth open. taking her right arm He cut a straight line from her shoulder all the way down to her middle finger. She cried as the knife burned her flesh as it trailed down, the knife seemed to grow hotter the longer it was pressed to her skin. She forced her eyes down and saw that the runes on the knife oozed off of it and into her flesh. She screamed and thrashed but the hands were firm and steady. He threw the knife down then bit into His wrist, walking over to her he held the wrist over her mouth and squeezed the blood into her throat. She moaned as the hot liquid trickled down; He stopped and nodded to the Hoods and they released her head. She coughed and gagged but the taste remained; then it suddenly went black. She panicked and thrashed ignoring the burn in her wrists, her skull seemed to split and she cried out with all her might as her mind crackled and then turned blood red. Then lips were pressed roughly onto hers and she felt pressure all the way down her throat, she groaned as the force pushed down down down. . .Then, in her mind's eye He stood in front of her. His black robe now covered His head, a scythe at least three feet taller than him was held firm in the bony hand, disjointed gargoyle wings protruded from his back.
~ Do not fear Ayanai, I am here to grant you a gift so powerful anybody would be willing to die or it.
The vioice echoed and she screamed at it,
~ I don't want any gift!! I just want my family back!! You b*****d, why did you do that?? WHY!?!?!?!?
~ Your future was more prominent than any other I have tasted, your purity makes you vulnerable and therefore more powerful. My name is Koba and I am now your other half. In mind, body, and spirit. You are now immortal just as I am and are allowed to freely use my powers. However, when you do use my powers I take over no matter how little the amount of power.
~ . . .but. . .why?? Why did you have to kill my family??
~ Part of the ritual. I must see if your future and past are worthy of my gift, and they are. I own you now Ayanai. You are mine and I am yours. We are one and the same. I shall lie in the shadows of your mind and let you stay in control, as long as you don't use my power. See you soon.
With those last words he spun and disappeared. Ayanai screamed and bolted upright in the hospital bed, a nurse hurried in and tried to hush her. The nurse called for a doctor and soon one appeared, stethoscope in hand. He placed a hand on her forehead and softly whispered in her ear,
~ Calm down Miss Fujitaku, you're safe here.
Her screams ceased and she laid back sniffling as tears poured down her face, in a hushed and almost quiet whisper she asked,
~ Where. . .where is my family?
The doctor and nurse exchanged glances. He sighed and nodded for the nurse to leave. When the door was shut he rolled a chair over and answered her.
~ I'm afraid your family is dead. They were found hung up in some sick occult ritual, your lucky that paramedics got there in time or you would have been dead too.
Her heart sank and she shook her head.
~ No doctor. Your wrong. I wasn't next, they chose me for His power and I am now eternally saved from death. For death is inside of me. I hold Satan in my very soul.
She held up her right arm and saw the faint scar of runes and the line that was cut. The doctor was silent then shook his head, rising from his chair he walked out of the room and closed the door. Ayanai turned to the window on her left and looked out at the rain as it pattered lightly on the panes. She could see her reflection, but only half. . .for the other half was the twisted face of Koba.

There's only a couple of errors in the entire thing. Near the end, when Ayani is talking to the doctor, the doctor says your when he should've said you're both times.

Extremly vivid, though the gory scene could've used a few other sensory details. I would also recomend writing in a more familiar or common tense, since that will help prevent making paralell structure errors.
