The Trinity Trend
An old story made by a friend and I, brought back to life about the trials and triumphs of being an assistant at one of the most renowned fashion magazines in the world.
~Chapter One: What did I just get myself into???~

Great, just great. My stupid car just had to break down on the day of my interview, didn't it? I checked the engine only yesterday, knowing Murphy's Law was going to kick in sometime or other, but now?!? I've only managed to pass college without getting kicked out, and now I'm probably going to lose my soon-to-be job if I miss the FREAKING INTERVIEW! Oh well, there are always taxis.

After taking a thirty-minute taxi ride with a strange guy who smelled like cigars mixed with alchohol (remind me to call the police later for him drunk driving), I am now in front of the Anabelle-Croque office building, and boy, is it huge. It looks like a fourteen-star hotel. Hitching up my army pants, I walked through the golden sliding doors, through the plush-carpeted lobby, and into the elevator. Then, looking at the address my employer gave me, I pressed the button that said "Trinity Three Office Build".

From what I know, the "Trinity Three" are made up of the hottest young designers in the whole of Manhattan. Their boss is Kaitlyn Trinity, the producer of the huge fashion magazine, "The Trinity Trend". The "Trinity Three" include Faye Thompson, Haku Akinawa, and Angelina Carass. However, Angelina decided to retire last month, and Kaitlyn is looking for a third co-worker. That's where I come in. I'm Jennifer Winthrob, an early graduate from Ivy League in the fashion department. All of my friends say that I'm perfect for this job, which I thought was bogus, but I sent a resume anyways. The cool thing is, they've decided to put me on promotion.

The elevator stopped on the 42nd floor, and I was greeted by a young lady, about the age of 18, with long reddish-brown hair. Her sleek black cutoff dress gave her a more professional look.

"Hello, you must be Jennifer, right?" she said.
"Yes, that would be me."
"Hello, I'm Lilliana, the assistant of our very own Kaitlyn Trinity. Just to warn you, business can get pretty intense around here."
"I think I'm ready for it." I said confidently.
"Good. Let me give you a quick tour." She started walking down a long hallway with glass walls, used for looking at what other office members were doing in their cubicles. She started again, "Mrs. Kaitlyn had told me about your resume, and she said that it was decent enough to gain a proper spot here. If it wasn't, trust me, I wouldn't have called you yesterday telling you to come."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now, you must remember that Mrs. Trinity is a very busy woman. So, she has asked you to visit Faye Thompson and Haku Akinawa before coming to her, just so she can finish up a few things. They will judge if you are appropriate for this position before her, so be ready." Dozens of questions were flying through my head, but I didn't get a chance to ask them before she pushed me into an elevator. "This elevator takes you straight to Faye Thompson's office. Good luck!"

The elevator stopped not too long after Lilliana led me into it, so I guessed I was only on the 44th floor or so. When the elevator doors opened, I was greeted by a blinding ocean of pink and purple. The walls were covered with rosy pink wallpaper and the floor was a stretch of violet plush. Giant stuffed animals were scattered everywhere with beanbag chairs, plush pillows, and an assortment of pink and purple lava lamps all thrown into the strange mix for a budding fashion designer. In the center of all of this pink-and-purple glory, there was a soft lavender writing desk and a girl about my age (surprisingly) typing something on her purple labtop.

"Hi!" the girl said. "You must be Jennifer Winthrob, right? I'm Faye Thompson. Before the real interview, can I ask you a few questions?" She said unnaturally fast when she saw me standing there. I nodded my head, eyes wide.
"Okay." I said in reply. I thought she would ask me a few simple questions, like the get-to-know-your-new-best-friend kind of question, but what came next was totally unexpected.
"What'syourfavoritecolor?What'syourfavoriteanimal?Doyouevenlikeanimals?Ifyoudo,wouldyoustandupforthem?Whichonewouldyoustandupfor?Doyoulikemesofar?DoyouthinkI'mnice?Ithinkyou'renice.Ibetwe'llbebestfriendsonceyougetsettled.Hey,didIaskyouwhatyourfavoritecolorwasyet?" she said, faster than ever. Right then and there, I thought her vocal chords would explode, as her words were firing at me like machine gun bullets.

"Ummm....." I said, still in an utter state of shock at how her words exceeded Mach 5. "green, yes, deer, yes,no, yes, no, yes???"
"Did you even listen to what I was saying? You said your favorite animal was "yes"!" I wanted to blurt out, "I didn't even know what you asked were questions, you said them so damn fast!!", but she said at the look of my surprise, "Just kidding!" She started giggling. Okay, she obviously wasn't the smartest of the Trinity Three.

"I like you Jennifer, and you seem capable of working with us, but I have to warn you now, Haku and Kate are really hard to please, so keep an eye out. The last girl we interviewed ran out crying after she recieved a tounge-lashing from Kate when she looked for the flaws in her outfit." I nervously patted down a wrinkle in my pants. "Just to tell you though, NEVER wear jeans with a brown tank top if you want this job. We take fashion, like, super-seriously here." The last part kind of freaked me out, but apart from that, Faye seemed nice. I mean, how can a girl with pink hair wearing a denim miniskirt, a navy blue tanktop with pink fishnet sleeves be mean?

"Okay, Jennifer, you should go up and meet Haku now." Faye told me.
"But weren't you supposed to give me an interview?" I asked.
"Oh, that. Haku will give you the interview. If you pass that, you'll meet Kate and I up in the penthouse at 5pm for the final judgement, okay?" she piped as she started typing away at her magenta keyboard once more. "Go into that elevator on the right to go to Haku's office, okay?"

Entering the elevator that Faye had pointed out, I left the realm of pink as the elevator doors started closing. Before they closed completely, I saw Faye get up from her lavender desk and walk towards an elevator with the initials "KT" enscribed on fine marble at the top. The elevator doors closed, and I could feel myself moving slowly up. As it moved higher, I had a feeling that this heaven-sent job may drop to the lowest depths of hell.
