The Trinity Trend
An old story made by a friend and I, brought back to life about the trials and triumphs of being an assistant at one of the most renowned fashion magazines in the world.
~Chapter Two: The first interview~

After leaving Faye's "paradise in pink and purple" office, the elevator stopped at the 47th floor. Before the doors started opening, I heard the faint sound of running water. It turns out that Haku has mini Japanese waterfalls built right into her office lining the walls, along with traditional statues of Japanese gods and goddesses. The room was like a gigantic lake, complete with lilypads and tiny stepping stones that led to a small pagoda in the center of the room with tatami mats laid out among the floor. I took great care not to fall in, I did not want to be wet for this interview of mine. When I finally reached the pagoda, a young girl was typing on her keryboard connected to a computer whose brand name I couldn't pronounce. The girl, which was probably Haku Akinawa herself, peered around the side of her computer, her creepy, cloudy blue eyes staring right through me. She had bleached hair, wearing a light blue kimono with little white slippers that I had to have, but we'll save the where-did-you-get-those-adorable-shoes talk for later. Right now, I had an interview to take.

"You must be Jennifer Winthrob, am I correct?" Haku seemed very formal.
"Yes."
"Good. I'm Haku Akinawa, as you most likely already know." Haku grabbed a clipboard off her desk and pulled over two more chairs for the two of us to sit. Apparently, she thought is was best not to sit in her oh-so-comfortable office chair.
"I'll just have you know, Jennifer," Haku started, "that I am the most serious of the Trinity Three. If you want this job, you best work for it. This isn't some fashion fantasy where unicorns come out of magic poofballs and work gets done whenever we feel like it. It is continuously busy at the office every day, and being one of the Trinity Three makes it even busier. As a member of the Trinity Girls, you must do the following: you must help Kate design clothes for her newest lines, juggle Kate's busy scheldule, and do anything Kate asks you to do. Got it?" The last part seemed a little intimidating, but that must have just been Haku's personality. Her cloudy blue eyes seemed to get even cloudier when she was making that little speech.
"I'm ready. I think I can do it." That was my only answer for Haku.
"Let's best hope you are. This test shall determine whether or not Mrs. Trinity should even waste her time with you." She grabbed a pen off her desk and held it, ready to mark down notes on her clipboard.
"Let's get started on the interview, then. Is it ever acceptable to wear a brown tank top with jeans?"
"Ooh, Faye told me this one!" I blurted out, thinking that this quiz might not be as hard as I thought. "It's never acceptable." Haku started writing stuff down on her clipboard as soon as I answered. I heard her mumble,
"Got answer from outside source." Oh crap. I screwed that up, didn't I?

This little fashion quiz of Haku's was one of the hardest tests I had ever taken (and when you graduate from Ivy League in the fashion department where you take weekly tests, saying that this was the hardest test you've ever taken is a bit pathetic). After the test, I sighed a breath of either relief (or disappointment) and got up out of my chair. Haku's eyes seemed to have cleared a bit.

"Congratulations, Jennifer." My heart skipped a couple of beats when I heard her say that. I would have fainted right there if I hadn't of remembered to breathe.
"You have just barely made it into the Trinity Three. You shall meet Kate, Faye and I in the penthouse of this builing tomorrow at 5pm. Have sketches ready, as Kate will be looking through them, and make sure you have all of your answers straight for Kate's questions." She tucked a piece of white hair back behind her ear. "I shall see you then." Then, she actually gave me a kind smile. Haku actually didn't seem like that bad of a person, you just had to get on her good side. "I shall call a taxi to pick you up and take you home. Exit down to the lobby using the elevator on your left." Haku got up and sat down behind her desk once more and picked up the phone as I crossed more stepping stones to the elevator. There was only one button inside the elevator, so I pressed "Lob."

When I finally got down to the lobby- fourty-seven floors up is a looong way down- a chaffeur was waiting for me behind the front desk holding a sign that said "Jennifer Winthrob". I wondered what the hell he was doing here, but I followed anyways out to a freaking limo! I guess this is what you get when you're a soon-to-be fashion superstar. Thank you, Haku!

After a thirty minute ride in heaven back to my condo, I got out of the limo and opened the door to my quaint little shack. It wasn't much but a sofa, a TV, and tons of plants, but it was home. When I walked in, I couldn't help but leaping up and doing a little dance in the entrance hallway.

My future was finally looking up.
