You tell me that you'll always love me
As a tear falls down my face.
You tell me that we are free
And that you feel the saving grace.

I hold you in my arms
And beg you not to go.
How could I ever deserve
This amazing love you show?

You promised me it would be ok
When I begged you just to stay.
You said it was all for me
That you would make us, make us free.

And you triumphed.
But at what cost?
For with out you,
My love, I am lost.

I cradle your beautiful head.
Why couldn't it be me instead?
You wipe away my increasing tears
And you try to quiet all my fears.

But death can not be held for long
And in dying you sing a song.
My heart breaks with your last breath
And all I feel is cold harsh death.

You promised me it would be ok.
Oh but why couldn't you just stay?

The sky darkens and the clouds open
To fill the valley with it's tears.
I wish that you were here
To quiet all my fears.

My love, you are gone
I know I can't move on.
Those who know the pain I feel
Know that I can never heal.

A greater love I've never known.
A greater man's never been shown.
But you will not have died in vain
For freedom I have now gained.

My heart will be forever broken
My pain will be forever woken
