Hey there, Happy Memorial Day! Since I have the day off, I'm gonna post the 14th chapter. Enjoy! And don't forget to comment. ^^
Chapter 14
While Sentaro and Ryo continue fighting off the mysterious assassins, Kitty found out that the person they rescued, Edward, is a vampire, and now she's wondering whether to trust him or not.
Edward: You don't seem scared or surprised.
Kitty: Well to be honest, you're not the first vampire I've seen and I don't really think you're a bad guy.
Edward: Hmm...
Bella: *continues looking at Edward, blushing*
Edward: *looks at Bella*
Bella: *gasps, suddenly looks away*
Nero: Bella-san, why are you acting funny? Do you always act like this when you make new friends?
Kitty: *gasps* I forgot about Sentaro-san and Ryo-san. They're still in the warehouse fighting. I better go make sure they're okay. *rushes to Bella, shakes her arm* Bella-chan!
Bella: Huh? What?
Kitty: Can you keep an eye on these guys for me?
Bella: Uh, sure. But why?
Kitty: You three stay here, okay? I'm going to help Sentaro-san and Ryo-san. *runs off*
Bella: What?! Whoa, hold on! *grabs Kitty's arm* You cannot go back there by yourself. You could get killed.
Kitty: But if I don't go, they'll get killed.
Bella: Then I'll go with you. You could use an extra hand.
Edward: I'll help.
Nero: Me too!
Kitty: Okay then.
Ryo: Don't bother, we're back. *appears with Sentaro, having few injuries*
Kitty: Oh my god! I'm so glad you guys are okay.
Ryo: Actually, we were pretty beaten up, but luckily Sentaro had a couple of potions to use.
Kitty: Oh ._.; So, who were those guys?
Sentaro: I have no idea.
Ryo: I do. C'mon, lets go someplace else before those bastards find us.
Kitty and her friends left town, went through a meadow and camped out in a cave. Kitty noticed something different about Edward.
Kitty: O.O Edward-san, what happened to your hair? It's brown instead of blue.
Edward: Oh, guess I forgot to mention that my hair changes color at night.
Kitty: Cool! Kinda like a chameleon. *giggles* ^^
Ryo: Huh? o_o; ... So Edward, Kitty tells us you're a vampire. That's cool, however, there's only one rule if you're gonna be with us: no bitey us.
Sentaro: -_-; *punches Ryo's shoulder*
Ryo: Ow!
Edward: Don't worry, I'll try to resist my urges.
Ryo: Good. Phew.
Sentaro: Didn't you say you knew who those guys were?
Ryo: Oh right. Well, those guys were Slayers.
Kitty: Slayers? What are they?
Ryo: They're an ancient clan of assassins who keep their identities secret by hiding their faces using masks. They aren't allowed to speak or show their faces to their enemies.
Sentaro: Talk about no honor.
Ryo: And that isn't the worst part, their main prey are creatures you'd think you'd find only in myths, like you guys.
Kitty: *gulps* Like me? And Bella-chan and Edward-san?
Ryo: *nods* Yup.
Kitty: *whimpers* OH MY GOD! We're all doomed!
Ryo: Shut up Kitty!
Kitty: *runs around panicing* How can I shut up when there are people out there that want to kill us? I don't wanna die! I wanna find Chita-neechan and bring her back home, so we can be a family again. WAAAHHH!!!
Sentaro: *appears behind Kitty and covers her mouth* Kitty, you talk too much. *uncovers her mouth*
Kitty: Oh sorry..... Anyway, what're we supposed to do?
Ryo: I'll tell you what we're going to do: we're going to avoid them as much as possible.
Edward: Why run away, when we can fight back?
Ryo: Well I'm pretty sure that it'll be easy for you since you're a vampire and you don't die so easily, but what about me, Sentaro and Nero? They'll even atack human who ally themselves with you guys. Besides, even if we could destroy them, they'll just send reinforcements. Their clan is either super huge or they have their own cloning factory. Hmm....
Sentaro: I'm gonna have to agree with Ryo on this one. For once. He finally said something that makes sense. Besides, our mission is to find Kitty's cousin and bring her home, not be heroes and destroy evil.
Kitty: B-But what if they do find us?
Ryo: We kick their butts. Duh!
Sentaro: *stands up* Speaking of finding Chita, I'm gonna go find a quiet spot so I can use my Spirit Scan to find her. Since this area is huge, it's probably gonna take me all night. *grabs plushie Nero and gives him to Bella* Can you keep an eye on him for me?
Bella: Sure thing.
Nero: Huh?! O_O; W-Wait oniichan, don't leave me with her!
Sentaro: *sits somewhere a little further away from them* Good night, Nero.
Bella: Aw! Aren't you the cutest thing? *huggles Nero* ^w^
Nero: -_-; I hate you, oniichan.
While Sentaro was using his Spirit Scan, Kitty, Ryo and Bella were fast asleep, Nero was trying to find a comfortable place to sleep and Edward was wide awake.
Nero: *rolling on the floor* Argh! Not comfy here either. I wish I had a pillow. Hm? *sees Edward*
Edward: *looking at Bella sleeping*
Nero: That guy has been staring at Bella-san all night. I wonder why?... *gasp* You don't think-? *jumps onto Bella's head*
Bella: *wakes up* AAH! Huh? Nero? What're you doing?
Edward: Hm?
Nero: I know what you're up to and it won't work. You know why? Cuz I'm gonna stay here and protect Bella-san, no matter what! If you want her, you're gonna have to face me first!
Bella: Aw, you do care about me. ^^
Nero: o.o Huh? No I don't! It's just... I'm doing what oniichan might do.... I think.
Edward: You thought I was gonna hurt her?
Nero: Yea.... Aren't you?
Edward: I told you, I have no intentions on hurting her, you or your friends.
Nero: Oh ._.; Sorry.
Bella: *giggles* My cute little hero. *huggles Nero* ^^
Nero: GAH! >_<
Bella: Now let's get some sleep. *goes to sleep while holding Nero*
Edward: ...
Nero: This sucks. Well, at least it's better than sleeping on the floor. *goes to sleep*
