Ok. I made a new guild. It's called the Soul Refuge. I am also working on a website for it. Anyone who wants to help me work on it is more than welcome. If i have any friends from gaia who are looking to gain some experience under their belt in practicing on websites for school or something like that?
There are a whole FOUR people in it. xp Yeah.
Me, Kikyomaki [who is deputy leader], hobogirl, and Teala.
I do hope to grow more, but I want us to grow at only a pace we can handle. I really do not want something like happened with knights where we had at least 50 inactive members. If we dont' see someone for forever, they will be removed. Not because we don't like them, but if they should return to conquer, they are more than welcome to come back.
Keep in mind that on conquer, getting kicked isn't always a bad thing. As, if you choose to leave a guild on your own, you have to pay 20k. do you guys know i tried out several guilds and paid almost like... at least 100k in last few weeks in leaving guild fees just cuz i did't like them and didn't want to be bothered. Well, not guildless. That was an ok guild with the players at nighttime. But, during the day, those guys were obnoxious to a degree that I could not endure.
^^ I am feeling very hopeful. I haven't really set out a big list of what we're out to do until we have more people that we can have somethign to work from. What I would really like to do is run a newbie training camp for one thing. We take in low lvl and plvl them [which gets us vp anyways.. which we all need wink ]. While they are with us, we teach them game etiquette. I mean.. ok. (and mimiru, don't get mad at me please! sweatdrop ]
for the average boy 12-16 years of age who play these games, this might be their very first. Well, it is free. Everyone wants something free and fun. Who is to blame for these kids not knowing how to interact with their new game community? We could say it is in part theirs if they don't take the time to find out what is expected or not tolerated. However, on that same token, I do believe it is the responsibility of players on a given server to help the newcomers play the way their server plays. Because even when it's just one game, different servers have different social climates, and as such, their mainstream dictates to which degree which etiquettes or methods are how things work there.
I believe by taking time with new people. From my experience, before I even got virtual points, I have taken new players to get a few levels, gave them money, and helped them find some ok starting gear. Then, I teach them game etiquette. My peers find it funny because some of them like to call me Master Grace. lol.. started with one person, but more do call me that when I take them out to train. They then adopt a spirit of willingness to learn more. They understand I am helping them. And, I am also helping the community becuase I am aiding in the forming of who might be a contributing member of the server community when he or she gets to a much higher level.
This is where I really shine in most games like this. In ashen empires, I was known on the Krythan Inception server as teh goddess of noobs... lol. There were many people who I took out and helped. They coem to me a year or so later and tell me they remember hte time i took them to the valley of the dead and showed them the krythan krypt. lol.. I enjoy this type of thing. If that makes me a lover of noobs, so beit. There is no shame in that. Even if I can only reach one or two out of every ten players who join our server, at least I'm trying and will eventually make a difference through them.
I guess that's what I really want my guild to do. I want it to be a place where people feel safe from the bad attitudes. Of course, since it's an open pvp game, they won't ever be completely safe. there are still pk'ers out there, but we will help people develop attitudes that help make the server in general a friendlier place to exist on.
Ok. Website plug: Soul Refuge.Com
