A new start for this journal
Well my journal died so long ago, but I have decided to start again, but instead of giving aspects on my daily life, which gets boring to read and write about, I'm just going to tell stories about Gaia. So let's give a warm welcome to the first article:

Reading in the videogame forum

A common problem in the videogame forum is that people seem to have difficulty reading. We see it everywhere. Now, you may not give two hoots about this, but I haven't noticed something rather fishy about the situation. So let's begin by looking at what happens in everyday Gaia life. You see if you happen to type the following rule for example, in your opening post of your thread:

Quote:
Please do not post about how you love Link, since I do not really care if you have the hots for pixelated people.

You are bound to get people who will post this in reply:

Quote:
OMG! I lurve Link!!!!!11111 Is is soooo hawt!1!!111234 heart heart heart whee whee whee

Apart from being rather poorly typed and a bit immature, isn't it strange that there people that have a failing grip on any form of simple reading skills that also claim to have an undying love for RPGs. So what's my point I hear you ask, well I'll tell you. As we all know the majority of RPGs are liked by a majority of Gaia users, no big surprises there. Perhaps because they are mostly Japanese games and Gaia happens to be a forum focused on Japanimation or because they like fantasy based game, yet I also figured that RPGs are loved because they feature a "good storyline" which apparently according to Gaia users, is a very important factor to a game. But how do most RPGs tell their fun little stories? Through little things I, and many others like to call text boxes. These text boxes contain WORDS, yes the very things used to form a sentence! So, what I'm I getting at? Just look what it says on the back of my Harvest Moon box:

There you go in plain black and white. You need to be able to read if you want to enjoy this game to the full. These people apparently enjoy their games, as we see by their (crappy) posts, so we must assume they can after all, they can read. So why on Earth don't they show this on Gaia? Does Lanzer somehow come along and pinched their brains every time they log in? Please, someone, for my sakes at least, tell me why? Well on a positive note, I can be sure about one thing tough; if one of these users comes into my journal, I don't have to worry about them being insulted, since they won't be able to read this whole thing.

Definately. o_o Btw, Yaay for journal revival!

Anyway, so many Final Fantasy people like that too. @_@ Do they really read what's going on, or are they only looking at the purdy graphics? .. Or Graphixxx with how things were going with FF games, especially FFX-2.. x_o'

I mean.. My little brother plays some games without reading at all.. @_@ Don't know if he enjoys them, but he tends to do that a lot.. It's just baffles me how some people play..

... Infact, recently, I've bumped into some people who were playing imported games and not understand a word they were saying.. >_< And insisting that what they've assumed from possibly background music and facial expression on the characters, since there aren't even people sprites in this game to show any actions, and pushing it into the likes of me who do understand it.. That's also confusing as they're not reading at all, but not only do they not understand it, but they push their assumptions onto others..

Anyway, dinner time. =D Brb.
