- _____Avery took a deep breath and slid out of the cab, slinging her backpack over her shoulder and going around the back to grab her suitcase from the trunk. She hoped no one would bother her right away. She'd just spent a couple hours in a cab; she was not in the best of moods. But it was worth it to hang out with Derrick. This would be hella fun.
_____She tossed a few twenties at the driver and told him to keep the change, just anxious to get into the house. "Yoo-hoo? Anybody home?" she called, kicking the door open carefully and dropping her suitcase off to the side with her back pack. She cracked her knuckles thankfully; she hadn't been able to do that because it freaked the cab driver out. Apparently it sounded like gun shots. Who knew? "Is anybody gunna greet me or do I get to run straight up to my room?"
_____Of course, she might do that anyway. Greetings were never her strong point. Meeting up people, greeting them, and saying goodbye were hell for little miss Avery. Gave her headaches like you wouldn't imagine. But she really should say hi to Derrick before she disappeared to her room for the foreseeable future.
