Hilde-chans Secret Diary
My life in Gaia.
My Fishing Adventure... Part 2
So, rod in hand and some dubious looking grade F bait, I head to the fishing lake again. "Why do they call it a lake, i wonder. It's not very big." then again, I had never seen a lake before, so maybe I had misconceptions.

I sat down next to the water, making sure my feet don't get wet. I pop open the can of bait. A foul odor assails my nostrils and I hold the can out away from me as far as my arms will reach. I somehow manage to bait my hook with the awful slimy stuff and begin casting.

I had always been told that fishing was a relaxing sport. I was obviously lied to.

The fish in tis lake had obviously been fed super hormones that let them have godlike power over thier aquatic environment. My mere fishing pole was about as useful as me trying to catch them with my hands.

They were powerful buggers, and tricky too. I pulled on the line, had them at a steady pace, when suddenly with a burts of in-fishy-ness, they zoom off in another direction, leaving me with a snapped line, blinking after the little speed demon.

So, as I pack up and start walking back home, I turn to look one last time over Bass'ken lake. the sun is setting and the water is transformed into a sea of gold. I breathe in and out serenely, leaving this place a better person, a wiser person.

Knowing that fish, everywhere, are laughing at me.

And people ask me why I am a vegitarian.
