I've decided to take up Gaia Fishing, as an alternate means of earning gold. Most of my credits come from posting, but I have had so many people tell me that Gaia Fishing is the ultimate way to build up your gold on Gaia, that I finally caved in and tried it.^_^' My shopping list just keeps getting longer and longer, it seems- and several of them are getting to be quite expensive. I still refuse to beg for gold or items. I want to earn them myself, and I think this will eventually be a solid new tactic to add to my overall strategy.^_~So right now I'm not exactly the worlds' best fisherwoman- and certainly not Gaia's- but I seem to be able to make enough gold to pay for my bait and have a little extra, so long as the game doesn't glitch out on me. Which seems to happen on an alarmingly large portion of my attempts. But I've just downloaded (or re-downloaded, I'm not sure) Flash 7, which is supposed to be the optimal version for the fishing game. Hopefully, between that and the Towns/New Avatar furor dying down, I'll be able to keep more of what I catch.^_^
The main purpose of this Journal entry will be to keep track of which fishing items I'm currently questing for, and how far along I am in that quest. I'd like to earn these things on my own (but I appreciate the thoughts, for you kind souls who were thinking of donating^_^), but I know that the path to victory will be long and arduous. Or at least as arduous as playing computer games can be.^_~ I'll bold the ones in which I am particularly interested- the rest are ones that I'm doing either because the items look kind of nice or interesting (but not so much that I really, really want them), or because I just seem to get so many of the requisite catches that I figure I'd might as well get an item out of it.^_^' When I actually get an item, I'll italicize it before questing for another one to sell on the Market.^_^ So without further ado, here is the list of items in which I am currently interested, and how far I have yet to go:

On a related note, this latest venture has also spurred me on to finally purchase a vending license.^_^ I have established Temenos Trading- named after the Temenos wall which surrounded the outer courtyard of ancient Egyptian temples, where merchants, doctors, scribes, and villagers gathered- to offer my catches (and whatever else I am able to obtain for sale) to my fellow Gaians.
My next fishing purchase will be the Performance Rod, which will give me a chance of catching the larger, deep-water fish which my Strength Rod can't reach.
