Of One Lost Connection, and An Answer That's Trouble
Rose: One Lost Connection

Rose wasn't exactly sure what had just happened... Shal had gotten the message about he pendant, and a few seconds later, she had melted off of the magical rope. If Wolf hadn't said something a few moments later directly to Rose, she would have thought she was dead. But she hadn't felt any trouble, so she had kept her cool. This time.

"Wolf hopes you know what you're doing." Rose said, a little more confused, if anything. "She disappeared off the line a moment ago, right after your last message." Pausing to actually look up at Lord Avondale, she frowned. "What does that pendant do?"

Se'rox and Nealiminity; An Answer That is Trouble

Se'rox was sipping her tea when she noticed Zuchax III extend his claws. She was certain Nealiminity wouldn't push him too far- he was a Nobody after all, and hard to enrage. But she still watched him, even after Nealy stopped talking. When Zuchax III started talking, she listened intensely. So much so that she almost choked on her tea when Zuchax III mentioned one of his particular needs. Nealiminity seemed to have missed it. She was just watching him. As if she was waiting for a particular response. Which she was.

As he continued, Se'rox felt his every movement. He was restless, it seemed, moving around, even up onto the hay. He was uneasy with the situation.

Nealiminity tried to keep her smirk under control as the Nobody reacted somewhat like she had hoped he would. Actually, it could have been more fun, had he attacked her, but the nuances of his character seeped through anyways, as did the answers he didn't even quite answer.

She didn't care much for his ramblings about people he'd killed, blah blah blah, and completely managed to miss the remark about procreation. But he finally, after much pacing, he addressed her most poignant question. He came as close to saying the right answer to it as possible while still missing it. Nealiminity smiled, though. He hadn't missed the mark completely, though. He had said enough to convince her.

Then he climbed onto the haystack, and went ahead and assumed that they were sleeping together.

Se'rox had just started to wrap her mind around the possibilities of co-dependant existence and that other thing he had said, when she caught it. This time, she was swallowing some tea, though, and actually choked on it.

Nealiminity's eyes grew wide and angry, before she paused, and started laughing.

The wind blew abruptly just then, which stopped Nealiminity's laughter and allowed Se'rox a moment to clear her throat, and regain her composure.

Zuchax III then said that he had only wanted to apologize to Se'rox, but that Nealiminity was making it hard to. And that he thought she was belittling Nobodies so that she could keep Se'rox, or some odd notion like that.

Nealiminity shook her head. She wasn't sure if she should be mad, honored, insulted, or impressed. As if she would judge a species- or so she thought of Nobodies- on one man's reaction. Or that she would sleep with Se'rox. Sure, girls weren't out of her way at all... but not Se'rox. She didn't chase straight tail. But Se'rox was, as he had said, a fine specimen of woman. Well, he hadn't said that. No. He had called her a Goddess.

After scowling at him for a few moments- moments in which he seemed to take pleasure in tidying the entire room except for the hay stuck to her, Nealiminity finally nodded. Especially after he muttered a semi-apology about the hay on her, and then said not really.

Looking over at Se'rox, she smiled.

"All right. You win. Either he's good enough to keep, fight for, protect, and trust, or he's the most annoying Nobody-LARPer* I've ever seen. You do what you want with him- but he does make an interesting point. If it doesn't work out between you, you should come share my bed. That could be quite an experience."

Nealiminity winked at Se'rox, and then walked out the front door. Being in anthro form, she simply pushed aside the wall of ice that held it in place. After leaving, she slid it back. She really felt like finding a good drink, and there had to be a bar in a place like this.

Which left Se'rox, running a hand through her wind-tousled hair, watching Zuchax III lying non-chalantly on a bed of hay. She did not really know what to say first- there was so much she wanted to say. But there was one thing...

"You honestly think I'd take up with a girl?" Se'rox shook her head. "Zuchax III... I came here to get you back. I brought Nealiminity in case I had to do so by force, and she came because she insisted- a long time ago- that if I ever fell for a man, that she had to check him out first. Make sure he was good enough." She paused, not waiting to see if he was going to react. She had to get through this, and she couldn't if he stopped her now.

"Zuchax III... I came here to ask you to..." she paused, that damnedable lump in her throat becoming more than she could bear. She swallowed. I can't say it! I can't. But why? "I want you to...." Again came the pause she could not control. She could not force the words. They were not going to come. She negotiated with the lump in her throat, until it at least let her say something that was close enough for the moment. For right now. "Zuchax III... stay with me?"

She wanted to say so much more. About the heartstrings that Nealiminity had found, about the nothingness without him, and that one thing. Why can't I get through that question?! Nealiminity said normal people have a hard time with it, but I thought that since I don't have a whole heart, I could say it. Ugh!

But she couldn't say more. She needed to know how he felt- if he felt. Anything, at all. Outside of the anger and jealousy he had just portrayed to Nealiminity. A feeling so much more... delicate, and hard to explain. Love.

*LARPers are, and stand for, Live Action Role-Players. They are people who meet and do something that's a mix between inpromptu comedy ('cept, no comedy) and playing _____(insert your favorite in-person role-play-game here)______. They actually role play the characters they create, and interact with other LARPers as their characters.

Lord Avondale sweatdrop

wh00t! LARPing's fun! I LARP'd Vampire: The Masquerade--but it became too political for me. I played a Malkavian who ended up having three personalities by the time she got killed (first inklings of the Dragon Dynasty Triplets I think) in a way only befitting to Personality #2.

I also began to play a Brujah, but that was about the time I dropped out due to the politicalness.

A tavern or three, at least, Nealimity.

Uh oh... Does that connection lost mean she's not going to be able to get out?!

Nealiminity: Good. I need something strong.

Um, I'm not sure about how that'll affect her getting back at all.
