Chapter 4

I folded my golden wings into my body and ducked into the corridor. The heavy footsteps of guards followed me. I scrambled into a bedchamber and fell face first on the floor, blood seeping from under me. I limped to the bed, forcing myself into a sitting position. I gasped at the loss of blood in my leg, running down my cloak, staining the silk. “Sora, Kiru, Yuki, Itoma!” the triplets stared at me with wide violet eyes, innocence flashing sweetly. I kissed their foreheads and threw them out the window. “ITOMA!” they rapidly flew off into the sunset in different directions. Please, let them be safe. The door slammed open.
“Youkai joshi, tomare!” I gazed at them sadly, as they raised their weapons.
“Sayonara, tori!” I winced and let them at me, Kiru’s haunting gaze staring back at the soldiers.
