Writer's Journal
I really want to be a writer someday, so this journal is about my writing ideas, short stories, or anything like that. I need COMMENTS! I need some ideas, too, stuff to help. Check out my journal, please!
Madeline
Ok. This post isn't about Austin's story, even though I know you guys can't wait to hear more about it. I'm working as hard as I can on it. But not today. Today is aweful, terrible, completely horrible. I'm sick. Yep, I caught some sort of cold. My throat hurts, my head aches, and my nose is all stuffy. Since I can't be in school today, I have nothing better to do with my time than write, saying how aweful I feel. I know you guys don't want to hear me whine. You want some more news about how Austin's doing with Micheal's death. Well, too bad. Today's short little story will be about Madeline. So read the story, and like it.

I sat on the cold bench, reading my English paper, just to pass the time. I kept checking my small wrist watch. It seemed like I was waiting forever. I was reading over my English page for the seventh time when I finally heard him coming.
"Austin!" I said excitedly, standing up and skipping towards him.
"Glad you're so anxious to see me." he said in a husky voice.
I grinned, looking up at him. I hated how short I was compared to him. Half a head taller. I was always used to being the tallest, especially at school. Of course, he was a year older than me.
"Well, it seems like you've reached a new state of grumpiness." I teased.
He rolled his eyes. I grinned wider. I loved getting on his nerves.
"Watcha wanna do today, Maddie?" he asked, trying to sound happier.
"Ice cream, please?" I asked, taking one of his hands.
"It's freezing out. Why do you want ice cream?" he asked.
It was fall, close to winter, and the weather wasn't doing any good to Issaquah. I loved the cold. It was only Austin who had problems with it, since he was from Los Angeles.
"Please?" I asked, using a pouty expression. He always fell for that.
"Fine, whatever."
"Yay!"
I pulled him along the sidewalk, coming up to a DQ. Once we were inside the store, I noticed the heavy jacket Austin had on. What a baby! The coat was huge on him, making him look fat. Really, he wasn't fat at all, just as skinny as a toothpick. I looked down at my knitted white jacket and blue jeans. I was even wearing flip flops! Austin ordered my favorite blizzard, Reese's. He ordered himself a burger. I sat down at one of the tables, pulling out some bucks to pay him for my ice cream.
"This one's on the house." he said, startling me when I noticed him right behind me.
"Thanks!" I said, eagerly taking the ice cream.
He sat next to me at the table, chowing down on his insanely big burger. I surprised he was as skinny as he was. He ate like such a pig. I began eating my ice cream with a spoon, watching him eat. After he was done, which was only like a minute, he smiled at me, ketchup all over his face. So he was grumpy because he was hungry?
"Nice. Take a napkin, please." I said, handing him one.
He whipped it all off, then took a spoon and started digging into my ice cream. It was gone quickly, with his help. I threw away the cup, and took his hand again once we were outside.
"Now what?" he asked, his voice sounding much friendlier.
"I don't know. How about a walk?" I suggested, smiling.
"A walk. Wonderful. How easy it is to entertain you." he teased.
I was always easily entertained.
We started to walk around the neighborhood, watching little kids ride by on their bikes. I huddled up closer to Austin every so often, pretending I was cold. After a while he finally just put his arm around me.
I loved being with Austin. He was so nice to me, so fun to be around. His reputation at school wasn't that great. He was the number one enemy of everyone. The only friend Austin had had at the school was a prankster named Erin. I didn't really think of Erin as Austin's friend. I didn't consider myself Austin's friend, either. I considered myslef Austin's girlfriend, and of course, that's way better than being friends. Lot's of kids didn't like me being with Austin, because they thought he was going to hurt me. But he never did. Girl's still say insults to me, and insults about Austin. They make sure he's no where near me when they say those things.
"Let's sit." I said after a while. We sat on the grass. Austin took his heavy coat off, placing it on the grass. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt, which was a little big on him. He layed back, pulling me down next to him. I was laying next to him, looking up at the sky.
"I love days like this." I mumbled, talking to myself.
"Me too." he said, grabbing my hand.
"The clouds are so pretty on these days."
"Oh... uh, yeah. Right, the clouds."
I giggled, turning my head to look at him.
"I love days like these, too." I whispered, squeezing his hand.
He turned his head to smile at me. We stared into eachother's eyes for a moment. Austin turned his body on it's side, his other hand that wasn't in mine wrapped around the back of my neck. Our noses were an inch apart as he brought his face to mine.
"Austin..." I whispered, but I couldn't talk any more.
His lips were on mine, pressing hard. My hands made their way to his head, where the fingers entwined into his butterscoch hair.
This was one of the best reasons I loved being with him. Why I loved him so much.
