Plus: Most of the following information has been confirmed by Square Enix, or is strongly supported by evidence from game play pictures/scans. A couple are my own personal opinions. You’ll be able to tell what’s speculation and what’s truth, trust me, I made it semi, sorta, kinda, obvious!
I have a theory...
As I may or may not have mentioned, my favorite videogame series (yes, I am a girl who likes to play video games, you can close your mouth now!), is Kingdom Hearts! So after many long hours of grueling play, I got the super duper uper secret ending scene of KH2!
Over the past few months, tons of info has been pouring out of the net on this game. Most of them are nothing but fan rumors that have manifested into known “truth.” I’ve sifted through most of it, here’s the real deal, kiddies…
Okay, as many of you may or may not know, KH: BBS (Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, the game the super duper uper secret ending scene of KH2 is referring to, and is for the Playstation Portable), takes place ten years prior to the events of KH1. It’s all about these three Keyblade apprentices named Terra, Aqua, and Ventus (Ven for short), who are in search of a Keyblade Master, Master Xehanort, and his apprentice. Master X’s sudden disappearance spells disaster (to what, is still unknown. Probably something along the lines of, “the fate of the galaxy,” or whatever), so it’s up to the three apprentices to find him. Maleficent is said to be the big bad girl once again. She causes some really big disaster involving the Heartless, which causes Master X and his apprentice's dissapearance. There has also been a rumor going around saying that Maleficent and Terra are somehow connected. Master X, his apprentice, and Maleficent are said to be searching for the Princesses of Heart… AGAIN!
Now, in the ending (which can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05lrvXaCoT8), the apprentice is wearing armor that closely resembles Riku’s outfit when he went to the dark side in KH1. Terra took Sora’s Kingdom Key, Ven took Riku’s Way to the Dawn Keyblade, and Aqua took King Mickey’s Kingdom Key in the cut scene mentioned above, in a place called Sunset Horizons.
During the ending scene, many different words flash across the screen. “Unbirths” refer to the new enemies featured in the game. Ansem’s Reports also appear. Why, no one knows. Some speculate that Master X’s apprentice is Ansem, but… “The Lost Two” possibly refers to Master X and his apprentice. “Master of Keyblade” possibly refers to Master X or the three Keyblade apprentices’ master that sends them on the quest to find Master X and his apprentice in the first place! “Memory of Xehanort” is possibly the reason for Xehanort’s amnesia. “Chasers” possibly refers to Terra, Aqua, and Ven, since they’re “chasing” after Master X and his apprentice to save the galaxy from certain DOOM! In a recently leaked cutscene, it is revealed that they are doing this by finding the seven Princesses of Heart before them. “Keyblade War” is possibly a war fought over the Keyblade, such as who is truly able to wield it, as seen in a recent scene from the game. Master X confronts Terra on his true nature and his reason for using the Keyblade. Or, it was a war fought between Keyblade wielders. “Birth by Sleep,” of course, refers to the name of the game! But, it could also mean the infamous Room of Sleep in Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix+, that Xemnas frequently visited by going to the Computer Room in the Radiant Garden and typing in the password, “another.” Aqua’s armor and Keyblade were there, which Xemnas would speak to and frequently call “friend.” Xigbar would often eavesdrop on these conversations, and told Zexion that once, he swears he heard someone reply. It’s also been strongly hinted Xemnas was looking for the Room of Awakening (possibly connected to the Room of Sleep), rumored to be somewhere in Castle Oblivion.
Tetsuya Nomura, the brains behind all the operations over at Square Enix, has stated that the game will have a scenario the player can choose to follow for each character. Each scenario will have a different style of game play based on the personalities and abilities of each character. It’s also been said that a player could have the option to switch between scenarios. Though there is no scenario or character more important than the other, the main theme of the plot will be Ventus’ identity (shocker). The game play will also resemble that of Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, in that card decks will be used (NO!!!).
A Note: Riku=Land in Japanese, and Terra=Earth in Latin.
Sora=Sky in Japanese, and Ventus=Wind in Latin.
Kairi=Sea in Japanese, and (duh) Aqua=Water in Latin! However, it has been hinted by Nomura that Aqua is the apprentice with no connection to any future KH character. Hmm...
Worlds that will appear in KH: BBS are Olympus Coliseum, Enchanted Dominion (Princess Aurora’s World), Castle of Dreams (Cinderella’s World), Snow White's House, Destiny Islands, Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, Sunset Horizons, Twilight Town, and Agrabah.
And so, for all wondering, my theory shall be posted in a later installment of Speaking of Which! I decided to make it into a four part series, each one focusing on a different KH game soon to come. The fourth one is going to be the theory, so just be patient children!

You’ll notice that most of these game play pictures are of Terra, a few of Ventus, and almost none of Aqua.

She’s seen here in the Enchanted Dominion, talking to Ven about something Maleficent said to them about how Terra’s heart was descending into darkness. Note that in a recent interview, Nomura said, with a smile, that the reason for Aqua being introduced last is important! ZOMG!! dramallama That was the last picture; sorry!
