It all starts out in the realm of the Shinigami. Shinigamis have a job and that job is to simply kill people. But its not easy since the other Shinigamis will laugh at you for working so hard but their job is to just right names of people who they want to die. One day a Shinigami named Ryuk got bored so he dropped his notebook.... into the human word. Well a student named Light finds that notebook with the letters death note written on it so he picks it up and takes it but only thinks its a prank. He reads the instructions and finds out that its very detailed to be a prank. But he still thinks of it to be a prank. So he desides to test it out on a evil dude I guess I should but it... well anyway. The death note will only work if you have the persons correct name and you can image that person. This as Light follows to do and in the 40 seconds that passes the criminal dies of a heart attack.
