THERE IS AN AIR POCKET IN MY SKIN and it SUCKS

Song of the Day...A Thousand Miles, by Vanessa Carlton

Status: sick, injured, and happy

Genuine happiness really is found at the most unexpected times. =]

I went ice skating today with Yuna, Hera, Catharine, Alex, and Jenn. It was beyond fun! I fell A LOT for quite a while, but I did eventually get it.

Unfortunately, what felt like nothing on the rink, turned about to be a whole lotta something when I looked at my knees and feet at home. o.o Bruises, bruises, bruises. And one strange sore that looks like and air pocket in my skin on the side of my feet. That one kind of worries me because it feels similar to a bruise, but it literally IS an air pocket, so I'm unsure of what to do. I can't be sure it'll heal overtime and who knows what will happen if I poke it with a needle. One. The air will seep out. Two. I'll just bleed and the skin will remain wrinkled and then I will be forced to peel it off painfully before it rots into a scab.

Nevertheless, the fun I had today was definitely worth the bruises and the cold I've got right now too! xD We pretty much just went in circles over and over. Catharine held my hand when I couldn't get it, and it was hard at first. Like I said, I fell. xD A lot. But she actually managed to teach me and I can do it on my own now. =] Hera also helped me out when I was trying to figure it out for myself, with her wisdom and instructions. And Yuna ditched me! xD She was afraid I would make her fall, haha. Anyway, I'm really glad I got it.

Halfway through I also skated holding hands with Jenn. =] This was my first time meeting her today and I'm really glad that we absolutely clicked just like that. =D It was a lot of fun skating with her! It was much easier by then too. =] And she's intp anime and manga and stuff like me too!

Conveniently enough, after we were done skating, Yuna introduced us to KinoKuniya! =] Home of Japanese-ness! It was SO freaking awesome! There were GREAT cosplay outfits, books on Japanese heritage and culture. Adorable stuffed animals! Action figures! MANGA. MANGA. And omg, CRAPLOADS OF MANGA. We took our time exploring for a while and just marveling at the evident awesomeness. But Hera eventually had to leave. Then, Pucca and Catharine headed to the bathroom and Jenn and I explored the remaining wonders.

Jenn and I did a lot of browsing before we actually chose anything to buy but we both ended up selecting stuffed animals. The tiny ones of course, considering how freaking expensive the big ones are. o.o Did you know, regular size Kon costs like 30 bucks??? Kon is 3-5 times as expensive as the average teddy bear. xD Well doesn't he feel special now?

Well, Jenn didn't really want to spend h er $20 because that was all she had and she needed some for lunch, but she loves Jiji from Kiki's Delivery service and she really wanted this little $16 Jiji kitty. It was so adorable! So I couldn't help but convince her to get it. I mean, how often do we come to KinoKuniya, right? I offered to buy it for her, but we paid together so she ended up buying it for herself, technically. xD I'm really glad 'cause she seemed so happy about Jiji. =]

It turned out that we didn't get lunch afterwards, although we had planned to. Pucca and Catharine had to go, so it was just me and Jenn. But then Maria came back so I had to go too. Jenn went down to the Grand Central train station to catch the 6 to her aunt's apartment and Maria and I went a couple of blocks down to Time Square to take the 2.

Oh, from KinoKuniya, I bought two mangas and one keychain of an animal from My Neighbor Totoro. The funny thing is that I got volume 7 of Gentlemen's Alliance which apparently I already have! The other book I bought was volume 14 of Furuba! Woohoo! =] But I think I'm at that point that Amy mentioned before where Kyo and Tohru become less and less mentioned in the story. Still, Fruits Baskets has a nice way of getting intimately into the lives of all the characters.

Well, since my nose is streaming down right now, I should go get a tissue and go to bed.

I was really happy today!
I learned to skate. =]
I made an awesome new friend! <3
I got manga and anime related merchandise!
I had fun!
