“What are you chicken, come on Mona! We’ve been wondering our whole life what’s in there and now we can finally go. Let’s just get it over with so we can stop being so curious!”
“Come on Mona, finally our parents let us go and you’re going to say no, that’s just not right.”
“Yeah, I know, but…” One week before Halloween. Gol, Sasu, and Mona were fighting about going into the worn down hospital farther down their street. It’s been there since their grandparent’s grandparents were alive. Ever since these 15 year olds were kids, they were always wondering what was inside this creepy building. Mona believes it should stay a mystery, Sasu and Gol don’t.
“Come on, we won’t even stay for that long Mona, just enough time to look through the place.” Gol persuades.
“Well, OK, only for a little while.” Mona whispers.
“Don’t worry Mona, we promise that we won’t stay for too long.” Sasu assures. They began heading for the hospital, the “S” upside down and the “T” not lit. Gol pulls on the front door, it doesn’t move and inch. Gol and Sasu pull on the door, it won’t budge. Mona, looking around, spots a pathway that has to lead to something. She coxes Gol and Sasu over. Sure enough, the path leads to the back door of the place. Rusted at the handle and a KEEP OUT sign on it, Sasu pushes the door in. It collapses on the ground in the hospital.
“Yah, that was kind of weird. Well let’s get going.” Sasu says, not the slightest hint of fear in neither her deep blue eyes nor her voice. Everyone stepping in cautiously to make sure not to step on anything that they thought was weird. Seeing how they were on the second floor that gave Gol and Sasu even more excitement for they knew that they would be able to explore even more. After excavating the whole second floor, they all met back at the middle of the first room where they entered.
“Well there’s nothing here that we didn’t already expect, let’s go.” Mona said, fake smile stretching across her face.
“Are you kidding, we still have another floor to look at, right Gol.”
“Yeah, come on, I see an elevator lets go.” Gol said, enthusiastic. In the elevator, Sasu pushed the button with a 1 and they began their descent. Just and they stopped at the 1st floor, expecting to get off, the elevator began moving down again. Looking more closely at the button that was pressed, Mona noticed that Sasu had pushed a button that said -1. Pointing at it as if it was a body with her mouth wide open, Mona stated, “You pressed the wrong button Sasu.” Everyone staring at it, then the doors open to a scene of blood all over the floor and walls. Stepping out just in time to see the elevator crash down all the way down.
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhh” a freakish moan heard from the left. As they all turned to see what it was making those horrible noises, and zombie limps out of the darkness surrounding them. Speechless, Sasu and Gol just stand there in shock of what it is they are seeing. Mona trying to think quickly of what she can do to get everyone out of this situation, she spots their saving grace. A crowbar is on the not too distant wall. Grabbing it and then hurtling towards Sasu as she screams, “Sasu, take this!” She grabs it without a clue of what to do with it.
“What am I supposed to do with this?” Sasu shouts.
“Whack it!’ Mona returns the shout. Hitting the monster with all of her might, Sasu destroys it with one powerful blow. Now with their zombie problem solved, they all just stood there wondering what to do. No elevator, no idea what’s going on, zombies, and worst of all, they didn’t know how to get back up to the surface.
“Well, we won’t accomplish a-a-anything just s-s-staying here, right? Heh, heh, heh, heh.” Gol finally managed to cough up. Mona and Sasu nodding in agreement at the statement just said, they all began just wandering through the place.
“We should probably try and find a map, then we’ll know where to go. There couldn’t be one too far away, right?” Gol guessed.
“I’m sure if we look carefully we’ll find one quickly.” Mina added. Walking straight in front of them, they see a path to the right Quickly they pause, the path in front of them is half submerged in murky, bloody water. They start to walk into the water and then they see a far off shadow. Upon getting closer they can make out the figure as a doctor cutting something, a body. When they are halfway down the lights turn off. When they are turned back on, Sasu simply stated, “Look, can we go back to the room, with the lockers, I felt a lot safer and less disgusting over there.”
“Well, that doctor could know something about the building and I feel I should ask.” Gol bravely thinks out loud.
“Gol, the doctors gone.” Mona whispers very plainly.
“What!” Gol yelps. It was true. When turned back around, Gol noticed that the doctor had suddenly disappeared. “I’m going to check it out, there’s no way someone can just disappear.” Trudging forward, the step into the room where the doctor was last seen, a corpse lay on the table, tortured to death by what seemed to be knives. Lockers again lining the wall. Heading back and finally again at the other locker room, they notice something. A map, a map of the entire -1 floor. “Wow, how could we have not noticed this when we started down this path.” Gol relives stress. He begins walking to the map when…”Blahhhhhh!!!” the zombie doctor jumps out from the lockers on the wall and grabs Gol.
“Sasu, crowbar, now!!!” Mona shouts. Tossing the crowbar to Mona, Sasu is again frightened for her own safety. Mona darts through and wacked the zombie with all of her might four times until it finally collapses onto the ground, dead.
“Thanks, I really owe you one.”
“No problem Gol, you would have probably done the same thing for me.” As they begin reading the map, Gol immediately notices their way out.
“If we take a left and then two rights, there’s a staircase we can exit through. It leads all the way around where we entered.” Smiles spread across everyone’s face. They begin making their way to the stairs. Right before the exit was a ton of zombies as if waiting for them to arrive.
“We’re going to have to rush them, got it?” Gol informed.
“Yeah, no matter what we’ll just keep barging through.” Mona stated. Sasu nodding in agreement.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!” they all screamed at the same time pushing and shoving through the horde of zombies to the stairs. Almost there, they just needed to climb up when…”OWWWWWW!!!”
“Mona, are you alright!!!” concerned, Sasu screams.
“Go on without me.”
“You crazy, come on Mona!” No response. “Mona?” No response. “Mona, are you alright?”
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!” Mona moans in response.
“OH NO, what do we do now, they got Mona!”
“We have to keep going.” Slam, door shut. Still one week to Halloween. The only two differences were: now there was no Mona and Gol and Sasu would never see Halloween the same way again.
