Roleplay Archive When I first joined gaia in 2004 under the username fishycakey I came to the site specifically for rping. Since then I've created a neat little collection of rps, most with the help of my best friend [darkpyro].

Mistakes of Our Fathers (November/2007)
Notes

Story

What happens when our lives as humans become so drastically endangered that we must doom the next generation of our people so that our generation may live? Throughout history humans have been inclined to always find better things; always look for an easier way out of everything. Well not too long ago the humans had such a problem and were forced to doom the children of the next generation. People who now fall under the 18-28 age group are suffering from a virus that was injected into them fourteen years ago. Some of them are now inhabiting enhancements to their ability to live and others are expressing the use of incredible powers. Not realizing the gravity of the situation people embrace their powers and accept them as yet another way out of hard situations. However the use of the terrible substances that were untested at the time of discovery have caused some grave repercussions. More and more people are being admitted into the hospital for strange symptoms. Leaving medical professionals dumbfounded, a cure isn't available. What chaos is to come if this virus is contagious? What drove these desperate people to start such a terrible illness? What were their intentions in doing something so devastating?

A group of seven scientist were the first to discover this new way to rush evolution. Believing they would be able to provide a future for the next generation in a time where life was hard and barely livable they didn't properly test their chemicals. These scientist administered the toxins to children as young as four and as old as fourteen in order to secure that by the time they were grown they would be able to handle living in such a terrible world humans had created.

Information

People who have been given the virus have a specific birthmark that when carefully looked at seems to be an inscribed symbol. People have it located in different areas, parents who wanted their children's to be hidden had the virus injected in places that would be less obvious.

People who have been affected by the virus look like normal humans for the most part. However there are FEW that have been deformed by a terrible reaction to the virus; some who look completely different then what a human should. Most people have had bad side effects from the virus. Things like a craving for blood or an allergy to metal, odd allergies, urges or cravings. People are affected differently but some of the side effects are uncontrollable and are beginning to surface as an issue. If your character falls within the age group specified then you are automatically a test baby. You will have the virus, the mark, and what ever side effects you choose.

Q&A

Question Wrote:
What physical attributes do the 'test babies' have that regular humans do not?

The test babies have a special mark somewhere on their bodies. It appears to be puffed up on the skin much like a deep scar.

Question Wrote:
What precautions are authorities taking to protect the regular humans from the 'test babies' who have become violent?

For the most part authorities are oblivious to the dangerous effects of these evolved humans. They have not set up a specif protective force against the 'test babies' so will have to deal with them case by case.

Question Wrote:
Can I be one of the seven scientists?

Yes! You can make a character who was one of the seven scientists involved and rp with that character the entire rp. However if no one creates a scientist that is fine as well. If you wish to interact with one of the scientist you'd simply have to rp them as a minor character that everyone can use when needed and I'll log how many are created throughout the course of the rp. Once seven scientists are eventually made rpers can just reuse the ones created at their leisure; there cannot be more than seven scientists created. Therefore the difference in making a long-term scientist and a short-term/for the moment scientist is as follows:

Long-term:
• Only one person may rp using this character because it is their personal character for the entire rp.

Short-term:
• Someone makes this one up so that they can get through a scene but doesn't play them the whole rp.
• More than one person can use this character as long as it is not at the same time.

Question Wrote:
How many characters can we make?

I'd prefer if you stick to having one character but I won't restrict how many you can make.

Setting

Taking place in a more advanced world we live in, states and countries are the same as ours but technology has increased the production of crops and new machinery has been made. Weapons among other things are upgraded but sadly no flying cars, sorry airborne enthusiasts. Your character can derive from anywhere in the world but I would like the events in the rp to take place in the U.S. for the most part but you're not limited to it.

Roles

Humans: Uhm... well they're humans, not much to say about them.

Morphs: The evolved human who can shift their physical appearance into some other person or creature.

Beasts: These 'test babies' have their physical appearance changed to look like something other than human. I'm not quite sure 'anthro' is the correct term but it's something like that. These people cannot change their appearance.

Deprived: Cravings get the best of these evolvies. There are a couple who crave blood and some who crave something as common as adrenalin. Some have gone so far as to call the ones who crave blood 'vampires'; although they may exhibit traits of a vampires real vamps do not exist in our world.

Impulse: Some cannot control their strong urges and those of them who are 'test babies' fall into this category. They cannot stop acting on their urges and often cause trouble. Not all urges are violent or harmful but can amount to be.

'Test Babies': This includes all evolved humans so it's a very broad statement.
