Starting Story Line:
For as far as one can remember vampires and humans have co-existed together keeping the balance between their population. Well with the way the world has turned chemicals have altered the humans bodies making them infertile. The infertility of the humans and the mass amount of hungry vampires has resulted in a human-less world. One where only the vampires survived because of their resistance to the same chemicals that made the humans infertile. With only each other and the mal-tasting animals to live off of how will the vampires keep their life style?
It is a dark time for the vampires, and while they once embraced each others cold company, they must now deal with the danger of being so close. Lust overwhelms a deprived vampire and it won't be long till they've all gone mad with hunger. Unless they are willing to settle for the blood of animals. This less than fulfilling sustenance is the only alternative the vampires have to their peers. While there are some who can control themselves to drink only what they need from a partner, many have trouble stopping themselves once they've begun to feed on a fellow vampire.
As far as the King and Queen are concerned they frown upon vampires feeding on their own kind. They have not yet begun to outlaw the act as a whole but try to reprimand it when it is in plain sight.
Now onto the new plot twist:
Before Extinction://
Man has always wanted more. The need to discover new things and experiment has taken over the humans. They've lost their morals and have gotten so blinded by the progress they have made in DNA manipulation. However the creatures they've begun to tinker with have not all been positively effected. Furthermore the humans had the idea of manipulating in pairs so that if the change is a success breeding may be possible. In doing so not only have they created an unsuccessful DNA manipulated creature they made them in breed able pairs. Even worse there are some reports of humans being manipulated with. Reports are still inconclusive and there hasn't been any evidence supported.
Current://
Not only has the extinction of humans absolutely devastated the vampires but now the land in which the humans kept the creatures has no one to maintain it. The vampires royals have taken initiative to securely seal a border around said land to make sure nothing comes out or goes in. It contains everything the humans ever worked on. However with sixty years of neglect it is likely that many of the works are ruined or lost. The vampires control the majority of the world but the royals made sure to collect every piece of human evidence and seal it in that part of the world away from the vampires. There is one character who is a hybrid; she is a mixture of human and vampire as well as being genetically altered. The royals have been secretly holding her captive in order to excuse their secrets.
Q&A
(?)How can the vampires be in a time era where candle is their only source of light and the humans had such technical advancement?(?)
(!)Once the humans became extinct the vampires lost interest in the technology and over the course of seven decades their technological advancement has downgraded leaving them in an era where there are no cars and much electricity. There were few who decided to study with the humans while they were around however most of them are employed by the Royals.(!)
(?)How does having an area with genetically manipulated creatures benefit the vampires?(?)
(!)Well, the fact that this area may contain a food source that is either equal to or better than a human is the main benefit. A part of it is the desperation of wanting to stop the vampire x vampire attacks. Only chaos and brutality can come from someone feeding off their own kind. This tests the moral fiber of the characters and leaves them to question whether they are willing to agree with these man made monsters that are so out of nature or leave them be so they may live out their fabricated lives, or what one would imagine their life to be, leaving the natural balance of things alone. As controversial as cloning was the manipulation of DNA along with that cloning to create a man made creature that can reproduce crosses the line.(!)
Note://
These events will progress over a series of time. If it's rushed it may lose its focus. While the characters are in this land they are looking for the humans research along with the edible creatures. Now Jaia will be testing the creatures for edible blood by taking a sample and actually trying it. If it isn't harmful she will be fine however if it is hazardous she will wait a bit so that she may see the effects it has on the vampire body then flush her system to remove the toxic blood. While the system is effective it is painful and time consuming, thus part of the reason finding these creatures can't be rushed.
Roles
Loyalist:
Vampires who trust in the decisions of the Royals are considered loyalist. The royals believe that the manipulation of DNA led to the destruction of the humans and do not want to follow in their foot steps. In allowing vampires access to this forbidden land it would be agreeing with what the humans have done. Loyalist do not know exactly what the royals are hiding behind the wall but they trust it must be something terrible and immoral. Loyalist refuse to believe they need anything the humans left behind, completely independent they want to depend on vampires alone.
Renegades:
After hearing rumors of what might be behind the wall that separates the forbidden lands renegades decided to explore the land in order to find out what the royals were hiding. Forming together they come in contact with the different things in the forbidden lands in search of the humans research and an attempt to find another source of blood.
Neutrals:
These are the characters on the fence. They are morally split and confused or just simply could care less. They can sometimes mess with a group or both just to stir things up but they hold no alliances with either ties.
Explanation
As the characters go through the new land Jaia has taken it upon herself to log every creature they come upon. With sketches and a detailed description she records the different traits of these new and strange creatures.
#The logs will be written in my, (r a w k m e), words and are based off of her experience with them. If you would like to have your character write a report first make sure your character has experienced the situation and fill out a report using your character POV and the basic format of other reports.#

Role
The Vampire : Explored
Sunlight: While they may be sensitive vampires can still roam around during the day. Many seem to sulk around in dark corners, where their comfort lies. However there are those who don't fear the sun and venture where ever they like.
Blood: Vampires are known to drink more than their fill and so have a direct role in the extinction of the human race. Even so there are some who can control themselves and some who even share their blood willingly. Vampires can either kill someone by drinking their blood or simply drink enough to sustain themselves.
Lust: Vampires sometimes fall into a faze of lust. They become so overwhelmed with the desire to taste blood that they can no longer control themselves. Warm, sweet blood is what they crave and most would do anything to get it.
Vampire's abilities vary from each vampire. Usually vampires have a direct connection with their sire, unless they've been killed, so share powers and abilities. Vampires from birth often take on the traits of their parents but often carry a different variant of the power or ability.
