well about a week ago I got back from New Mexico. The Junior Olympics was held there for fencing! so since everyone is askinf me how I did, I'll just write it here.
I did pritty good for my first Jo, plus the fact I've only been fencing for 2 years and most everyone else around 6+!
at tournaments we start out with these things called pools, and no not a swimming pool. everyone is devided up into groubs with normaly 7 people in it, you fence everyone in your pool and based on how you did in the Pool bouts deturmans where you staned for the Direct Elimination Bouts (DEs) if you lose one of these, your eliminated. but theres a cut off line, only the top 80% or something can go on to the DEs, so up to #121. guess what? I was #121!!! I was the last person to make the cut! ^-^ so I had to fence #7, and I lost my first DE. but thats OK, when we shook hadns after the bout I said great job and good luck for the rest of the tournament, hehe she just glared at me! XD I thought it was funny and took it as a compliment! =D
