The storm is raging,
The waves are crashing,
Fear is growing in,
Where could Jesus be?
Doesn’t He see the storm?
He is no where to be found.
The rains are pouring harder,
The winds are growing stronger,
Fear is taking over you,
You cry,
Jesus,
Where are you?
I need you,
Come rescue me from the storm,
The boat is tipping,
You’re losing your balance,
You’re losing your faith,
Where is Jesus in this storm?
Doesn’t He hear my cries,
I don’t think I can make it without Him.
You keep searching,
Still He is nowhere to be found,
You keep calling but He’s not answering,
You’re losing hope,
You’re caving in,
You don’t know what to do,
Finally you find Him,
He’s sleeping,
Peacefully and soundly,
Outraged and terrified,
You wake Him up,
Call out to Him,
Jesus! How could you be sleeping,
The storm is raging,
And you’re sleeping?
How could you let this happen?
If You had been awake,
You could have saved us from this storm,
Now get up and help us!
He gets up,
And rebukes the winds,
“Be still!” He commands,
Amazed and shocked,
You stand there quietly,
He says where is your faith?
Don’t you know God is in control,
He sees your storms,
He will never let you go,
Though you are in the middle of the storm,
God is with you.
Sometimes we feel as if God’s not there,
Or that He’s sleeping in the middle of our storm,
In the middle of our hardship and trial,
He was sleeping!
I thought He was supposed to be taking care of me,
Not sleeping!
Jesus was able to sleep through the storm,
Because He knew His Father was in control,
We are to do the same,
In the middle of our storms and trials,
Tests and hardships,
Lift your eyes up to the heavens,
Know that God is in control of your storm,
At the sound of His voice,
The winds and the waves are stilled,
The storm has been cleared,
You too can sleep through the storms,
By knowing that God is in control,
And you don’t need to worry,
But sleep in peace,
For your Father is in control of your storms.
God Bless everyone,
I hope this was a blessing to you.
Mark 4:35-41
35 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”
36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed).
37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.
38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”
39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.
40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”
